This seems like a conversation that represents comic strip women more than real-life women. I don’t know any women in real life that would consider the phrase, “I’m going to get my hair cut” to be a ground-breaking statement. In the comic strip world however, it was a big deal when Blondie changed her hair or when the mom in the Family Circus changed her hair. It was a big event for the comic strip women.

Oh come on, Connie, what do you know about where Elly was coming from? You always wore your hair short.

I pressed on enter button too early. Only few women actually look good in short hair. I know I do not although I will say short hair is much easier to wash but very limited in styling. I like the shoulder length the best. I had waist length and that length was the easiest to style, so many styles to try and wear. It was fun, but a pain to wash. The shoulder length is the happy medium.

A woman’s hair should be long enough to strangle a man if he misbehave.

I never had hair that was shorter than my chin until a few years ago, when I got a “guy’s haircut”. It definitely did not suit me. Now that my hair is halfway down my back again, I find myself wanting to cut it all off. Apparently, I didn’t learn anything from last time!

Long hair might be pretty, but it’s such a nuisance to wash and brush. In addition, I never want my self-worth to be found in my hair. I know some women and girls who aren’t themselves without long hair, and to me, that’s a little sad. I never want to be so attached to my looks that a bad haircut makes me cry.

In my opinion, life is too short to not have a little fun, and experiment some. Hair grows back, so what’s the issue?

I had pretty long hair till the end of December when I cut it, I had wanted to keep it long but it no longer looks good. With age, it’s thinning out some. So I finally bit the bullet and cut it. I guess I’ll have to keep it cut now. Oh well.

I never have had my hair longer than shoulderlenght, it has always been very thin hair. Fortunately i got curls, because it gives a bit more volume to it. But i have it short now, which according to all my friends, family and coworkers, suits me the best. And that’s the hairstyle i have had for most of my life anyway.

I like woman with short hair. But I have seen some who are like PAT on SNL. I’m not sure if they are male or female. Just an observation.

I don’t understand why people say that long hair is a pain to wash. I have waist-length hair and have no trouble washing & conditioning it. My hair always looks clean and presentable. I also don’t color it and let the greys shine. I cut my hair when I was 20, tried it short for 2-3 years, and hated it the entire time. I’m a proud long-haired gal!

When I was a little girl long hair was tradition in our church. Mine was thick and wavy with a tendency to tangle. It was all the way down to my hips. My grandmother would comb it out and pull a ponytail high on my head. Then she would braid the whole thing. One summer my mom just whacked off that braid and then took me to the hair salon for a short feathery haircut. I loved it! I’d never felt so free. We were the scandal of the church but she didn’t mind and neither did I. After that I spent all my summers in short hair. By the end of the school year it would once again be waist length and ready to be chopped off again for summertime and I would be ready for adventure!
