Always plant daffodils. Neither deer nor squirrels like them. The entire plant from the roots to the flowers is unpleasant and animals will not touch your other flowers if there are daffodils in the same area.
When I got home it looked like they had bloomed overnight.I love these flowers. They are wonderful. The house my grandparents lived in when my mom was a kid has since been torn down, BUT the daffodils are still there.
After a foot of snow in January, we’ve had a very warm February. So warm, my early daffodils are in full bloom along with the hyacinths. My later blooming daffodils are coming up, but not yet blooming.

Daffodils. The after-winter tonic. All’s well. Spring is near. (Ours are popping up all over!)

She didn’t “kill” them. She only picked them. They will bloom again. And by the way, they aren’t “croakesis” they are daffodils.

Wait until the daffodils are plentiful and just cut one from each bunch. Then you’ll have them inside and out.
