Wow. First mention of aunt Fritzi.

She exists in the new universe. I’m waiting to see her.

I came here to GoComics because hubbub over Nancy. This is my first comic. And I LOVE IT!

LOL. If it weren’t for lead time, I would suggest that Olivia is responding to my comment a few days ago about lack of background.

If you look at the GoComics “sample” of the strip, it still has Guy’s artwork and you can see the obvious differences in style. Olivia’s children actually look more human than Guy’s. The heads aren’t as round and they actually have chins.

How does Nancy know there’s a cartoonist? Doesn’t matter I’m laughing too hard.

Again, this is one of those that should have led off the strip. I actually gave a brief snort of amusement.

I recall there being a 2nd generation of the Nancy strip. It was chunkier and more outlandish than its original stiffs. This 3rd generation seems stiffer than the original. Not liking it.

So, have they gotten rid of Phil and everybody else?

I don’t like the new strip at all.

Wow, I had stopped reading the strip years ago, as too formulaic and derivative. I see Jaimes has brought some life back, nice work!

Sometimes I wish Nancy was real and I could hug her.

Those green walls would look good with some round white clouds painted on them.

I am so happy to no longer be the “weird” and polarizing cartoonist in these parts. Great stuff, Olivia. From someone who has read all five creators’ versions of Nancy.

I want to see Fritzi!!!

I read about Nancy in the internet today and that’s how I’m here.So far so good.

I have been reading this strip for many years and right now don’t care much for this version. Maybe will substitute something else for this one.

I love the new look of Nancy. It might be drawn a little sparse than before, but I think Olivia draws Nancy herself more like Ernie Bushmiller did – a little chubby. Guy’s Nancy was slimmer, but IMO, she is meant to be chubby. I am just happy to be reading Nancy every day!

I dont think Olivia Haines exists either,Too much of a coincidence that this early on there’s references to critiques on the internet and effort into artwork.Don’t be. surprised if Aunt Fritzi is doing drag shows !

This is probably the most Bushmillerian strip so far. Thanks Olivia for “getting” Nancy.

We used to be able to see how many people followed each comic strip. No longer can see that. I’m curious to know how many have stopped following Nancy? I’m close to being one of them. :(

For those who say the new artist isn’t true to Bushmiller’s humor, check the Nancy strip from January 20, 1951. It’s a similar visual gag where the cartoonist is the punchline.

I read Nancy as a child. Tried it again back when i first joined Go comics. Quickly dropped it. Then i read one in the top 5 the other day and chuckled. Today I read an article about the new cartoonist. Read today and laughed. I’m back to following this strip.

I’m now following (+1 for you scorekeepers). Also, follow Pab Sungenis’ “New Adventures of Queen Victoria”.

I think if this strip had led off, instead of “cornbread,” the conversation would be quite different.

Love the new Nancy. First time I’ve read it in decades. Keep up the great work.

I haven’t even thought about Nancy for thirty years. All you ‘I hate change’ people, all you did was draw attention to the comic and made me notice that “Hey, these are kind of funny! Actual jokes!”

I adore these new Nancy strips so much

It’s just hard to laugh at a strip in which the two main characters look like they are suffering from some horrible disease that blanches the skin. Is this just a matter of taste? If I’d never seen the former Nancy strips and just started with what’s being presented now, I’d have removed it from my daily viewing list. Give it another to weeks, tops.

The artist has absorbed Bushmiller but made Nancy her own – great!

Love self-referential humor. I hope this is the first of a trend for this strip.

As a fellow artist, I appreciate this.

This is fairly charming. So what if it’s not Bushmiller. How long did it take for Bushmiller to become Bushmiller? Gord knows Hagar, Beetle Bailey, and Wizard of Id are humorless and pointless.
