I’m doing a BBQ for my Mum today which she really enjoys and my brother is actually showing up for once – he’s often tied up with work this time of year so can’t always make it.
Happy Momma’s Day to all folks who celebrate it today (the UK’s was on Sunday, March 11th)! I adore Georgia’s signature—is that a cute little butterfly on the edge of the strip?? And I’m so glad to see the arc continued through to today! I love how the charger showing 100% signifies a mother giving all of her strength to nurture her child. Awww!! I hope my momma read today’s BCN strip in her newspaper (messaged her to make sure she reads it!) . . “the role” of a mother is most definitely bittersweet because eventually her children must take flight and I literally did that when I left the country and the whole continent to fly across an ocean to marry the love of my life. It’s been ultra hard on the both of us being so far away from each other. I have deep respect for her and all mothers out there who have given all their heart and soul to nurture their children despite the kids not always being so thankful or grateful early on. (( ((huge, engulfing bear hugs and boops going out to all moms)) ))

I am grateful to have had for 84 years, the most generous, loving, giving mother in the universe. I miss her every day since she has been gone (3 years ago in a horrific car crash ) and I appreciate my incredible MIL all the more while I still have her. Hearts and flowers to all of you today. To those who were asking about the family and Paul: mother and baby Freyja continue to gain strength. Paul is waiting for the appointment date with his radiation oncologist. I gather he is in for a rather unpleasant time (Paul, not the oncologist), and that he will feel worse before he gets better.
Happy Mother’s Day to all Mom’s everywhere, regardless of size, shape or form of Mom and the Kidlets!!! One of the bestest Mom’s I ever knew, was my widowed Dad, who seemed to fearlessly take on my 7-yr-old self and my two older brothers…Until he met my step mom, who became a fabulous second Mom. Kudos to all of you!!!

And happy Mother’s Day to my own mother, who raised me on her own while holding down two jobs AND serving on our local town council! She was and is an unstoppable force, a simply marvelous woman. Pansies were a favorite between her and my great grandmother (her grandmother) Nana Irene, and she and I love them too, hence the little pansy in today’s signature. She’s an amazing Mom, balancing encouraging me to be myself with challenging me to be my best self. In life she has never let me lay down, but she also never made me walk alone. I love her to pieces, I wouldn’t be myself without her!
