Kinda like when your parents give your kids a drum or toy bugle. Kids think it is great, but you know the real reason for the gift.

Funny thing siblings.

Just put it in some precarious place, where it will be sure to be knocked over & get broken.

Put it outside to scare away birds from your birdfeeder.

Put it in Michael’s room. It will vanish under all the piles of stuff he leaves lying around…

I can see that getting annoying after a while.

That reminds me of “Mr. Ugly”. When my husband & I were dating, my mother found out that he collected owls. She found a 3’-tall papier mache owl. It was dark brown with neon orange and green outlines on it (hence the name). Every time we moved we tried to get rid of it, but it somehow got packed. Now our girls actually love it, so it sits on a high shelf in the kitchen, both out of the way and in view at the same time.

I’d add it to my other 2 owls to try to keep the absolutely beautiful woodpecker from destroying my house. Shiny objects have been know to scare them.

Since it is plaster, Mike might bury it in his bedroom with piles of stuff. If it was a big stuffed toy, then Farley would have gnawed at it :)

Was given a plastic, life size owl. Used it to repel the sapsuckers from drumming on my eavestroughs at 0500 in the morning.

Dustcatcher. Isn’t it amazing the effort and money people will exert at a carnival to “win” something they wouldn’t pay $2 for at K-Mart?

What is that in the rear of Elly’s drawers?

Reminds me of the leg lamp from A Christmas Story. One of my fellow veterans bought the house where the movie was filmed, and now owns a business selling replica leg lamps!
