No worry. Once he finds out it’s really hot, he’ll just walk around naked like he always does.

Pig’s friend is actually making me glad the highest temps we’ve seen around here so far this year have been 31.111°C or 31.667°C. Doubt that’s going to last now that summer is finally here.

When converting Celsius to Fahrenheit, the accurate result comes from multiplying it by 1.8 and adding 32; but a simpler way is to double it then add 30. (The closer the temperature is to 10/50, the better the approximation will be.)

So pigs aren’t familiar with centigrades …

That must be where the term sweating like a pig came from.

The interesting thing about the British is what we do: We use Centigrade when it’s cold, and we use Fahrenheit when it’s hot. So when it’s hot, we go, "Ooh, it’s hot . . . " Someone goes, “It’s in the 90s! It’s 92!” But when it’s really cold, we go, “It’s minus-3! It’s minus-5!” We don’t say, “It’s 28,” which is what it would be in . . . in Fahrenheit. We do. We’re very consistent, aren’t we?

Hottest day in England ever recorded was 35.9C I have been in Aswan, Egypt and it was over 50C. Even for an Australian that was hot.

If it’s that hot in England today, it won’t be by the time he gets there. English summers are very rarely that hot, hence the lack of AC in most homes and many businesses. And some years “summer” is very short. One year I missed it entirely because I was in the bathroom.

Easiest way to convert: Double it, subtract 10 percent, THEN add 32. That’s exact…

This is obviously the multiverse version of England where it’s warm and not raining and cloudy all the time.

Last winter I was driving across way upstate NY to pick up my son from school. I found a nice radio station to listen to and the weather came on. They announced the temp being -8 degrees. I thought “Wow, that’s cold”. And then I looked at my car thermometer and realized I had tuned to an Ottawa station.

I could mention stories of people of a certain country crossing the border into Canada in July hoping to go downhill skiing. But then again, I better not.

The U.S.A. has to be the only country in the world where we describe the temps by Fahrenheit over Celsius

When I brought my Grandson over for a visit he didn’t want to get off the plane at LAX because the captain had announced the temperature to be Eighty degrees, roughly 175c. I still tease him about that.

Why does the world want to force Celsius on the U.S.? Could it be because they hate FREEDOM?

When we used to visit foreign tropical countries, one of my first duty’s was to correct the thermostat using F = (9/5)C + 32. Then I put the permanent marker in it’s personal suitcase location for the next trip.

The US schools have been pushing metric, Celsius etc for 50 years and it isn’t happening. I was amused by the “Keep liter in it’s place” sign in a local store. Couldn’t decide if it was a protest or just bad spelling.

At a beach tiki bar in Cancun there was a TV monitor with the current weather conditions. It seemed very odd being in swimsuits & sipping Coronas & mojitos while it was “32 degrees!”

Folks, this is your Captain. Smoking is strictly prohibited on this airplane. The party smoking the pork must either stop, or send up a portion to the cockpit to share with your flight crew. We’ll take it ours with a side of beans.

I have stood on London Bridge in July in a light jacket, with chattering teeth. I have sat in a London bus upper deck roasting in the same month, a few years later. He may not need the extra clothes, but it IS just possible…
