Elvis, you’re looking pretty rough. And I love that while all the boys (and Buzzy) are mesmerized by the “flowers”, Tabitha is nonplussed by the butterflies.
So they walked to Megan’s place, Tre-C viewing for the first time a neighborhood Megan knew from the inside out. And she absorbed it all- from the fragrance of roasted chicken to the soft scent- distinctly floral- of something she recognized from her human family. “They call that fabric softener,” Megan offered. “They use it on their clothes, the material they cover their beds with… I love the softness, but I swear to Cat I do not understand their obsession with fragrance.” “Well, as long as it wasn’t TOO strong, I didn’t mind. And those fresh piles were so comfy” Tre-C added. Megan replied; “Preachin’ to the choir, Tre-C.”, and they both giggled.
They came to a well-lit corner where there was a lot more activity, more people, more cars, just more. Megan pointed out the building that people were going in out of. “That’s our stop…” she said; “remember the sign ‘meetzncheezez’”. Tre-C stared straight at the neon without a hint of recognition, save the colors. “Got it- big red and green glowing sign”. Megan felt bad for this oversight. Speaking was one thing. Being able to read… whole different ball of yarn. One day Megan would tell Tre-C Jimmy’s story, how he was the 3rd generation of butchers in his family but decided to forge out on his own. That was the reason for the name of the shop. Jimmy loved his dad, but he was not a Vic, Jr. Nor did he want to open “Vic’s Deli 3”. Once Megan taught Tre-C how to read, she could begin to explain the wordplay these humans were so fond of. “Come on,” Megan said, then drew a long breath; “I’ll introduce you to Hector…”
Happy Saucerday, Shaunn! I’ve already struck out with saucer roulette. The Old Girls didn’t like anything I served them for breakfast. It’s a constant circus trying to find something they’ll eat. Guess I’ll have to break ot the shredded chicken breast in the fridge.
I have to tell you, the comments today sent me to the “English to Spanish” translator today. So who knew this BCN strip would be entertaining, foster communication World wide and educational. Way to go. Georgia definitely deserve a Reuben award. I hope I spelled that right.
Such dreamy expressions on all the boys! Love Sir Figaro’s “GN” mug too. I can hear the throw: “Now on the scene, reporting from our Spanish-language sister station, GatoNoticias…”
Hey guys :) update on my sisters roommates – She found a couple girl who are interested, they just need to meet up, look at the , and decide if they would like to live there :) Thank you all so much for your prayers, positive thoughts! :)
Cat, let me have the sangfroid of Tabitha one day. But today is not that day. We lost our sweet baboo, Linus, today. For ten years he’s been my shadow, my “small, dark and handsome” sidekick, my 5am alarm clock. Good night, sweet prince…see you at the rainbow bridge.
I grieve with thee, Erin. It is bad enough to lose them old (Lady Jane was 19), but young, that’s rough (Taffy was only 7). There will always be the pain, but as time passes it will lessen until it is only an ache.

Elvis is still scruffy; Buzzy has his mug, Tommy is adorable, and “No es una flor.” Tabitha is the Alpha Female. =)

Love the small detail of Tommy holding his camouflage babushka in his paw now that he no longer needs it!

No need for a disguise now, Tommy – the flowers have taken wing.

Sir Figaro toe beans – sorry I don’t know how to say that in Spanish.

Guess Elvis misses out on more than getting groomed because of the hairball. Seems rather hungry too.

No, no Elvis – don’t eat the flying flowers.

Our boys are rapt (hungry, even). The lady Tabitha, not so much (as she cooly sips her drink; “it’s not a flower…”)

It is always a good day when Sir Figaro makes an appearance. There is something about that little two-toned face that always makes me smile.
