ROFL! Now THAT I can relate to! There have been days recently where I could have sworn I saw a sparrow fly out of the tree in our back yard and burst into flame. I plan to save our natural resources and make bacon and eggs on the dashboard of my car…

My plan would be a combination of all three- take my pants off, get a cold drink, then stand in front of a fan. Maybe not even in that order..

Elvis. You need to get a pair of pants and shirt that wick. They will make you feel much cooler.

Is Puck stripping in front of the fan?

Incidentally, I’ve been known to hold Smokey and the boys up to a fan to cool them down. Usually holding under their front “armpits” so their back legs dangle in front of the tower fan. Smokey and Bandit seem to greatly enjoy it, DC is never sure what he thinks of it. We do have A/C in most of the house (I wish in my bedroom, but that would take some major rewiring given there no outlet for it near the windows), but the fans are still important in circulating that air. And if they’ve been out on the porch and brought in when it starts getting too hot for me to want to let them stay out there, the fans help cool them down. Though I do want to be careful doing that, I’m sure it could cause some problems cooling them down too quickly. They usually let me know when they want down and are usually still a bit warm so maybe I’m not cooling them down too quickly.

Pointless and without mercy? That’s normal summer here. One of our owners (now long gone to her next life – probably as a politician) used to enjoy being stroked with an ice cube. The current arbiter of our fates is not so keen on that.

And I’ve worked out a way “their nap is our nap” can have a meaning. Cats are very soporific. A sleeping cat puts everyone else to sleep. (Thsi is the result of those snoozums being released.) So, with a bit of a strain on “is”, we can read it as “their nap is the cause of our nap”.

Sadly, this is actually the same forecast where I live. Lucky I have working central air. And Elvis, don’t worry about no pants, I see you have your skivvies on and that’s perfectly acceptable on very hot days.

Tre-C and Megan are back in the “Stream” and looking forward to a little R & R when they return to Megan’s office in the back of the deli. This humble documentarian wishes to thank all of the orbsters present for allowing the story to be broadcast here, and we thank the dedicated reporting team of Elvis, Lupin, and Puck for their interaction. Special thanks also to Denny, SCAEva, Fiona, Gloria, KOKO, KK, and especially our dear shaunn. Mostly, however, I would like to thank the “Creator” for allowing me to use the BCN network to broadcast my story. Whaddya’ think, Georgia? Time for a collaboration? (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Elvis – you need to be like Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch” and keep your colorful skivvies in the freezer.

Puck’s got his version of the subway scene going.

Boy! Today’s strip is hitting home world wide! Sure is here in North Hoosierland! Nailed it, Georgia, as always!!!! ☺☺☺

Oh dear friends, the meds change is, so far, worlds better! In addition, as suggested by you folks, I’ve really upped the probiotics. Thankfully, I take them daily for diverticulitis, so they’re on hand. Also have a huge cache of yogurt. The bloating, gas & nausea are DRASTICALLY reduced!

Your kindness, support, good advice, prayers, and caring words have been appreciated more than these lame words could ever convey. I would not want to live in a world where people like you didn’t exist.

[For those who are believers, (others may skip this part) this is what I embrace: I truly believe the Creator cherishes love above all others, for love is the binder. Love ties us together (always including furbabies), as well as to our Maker! Hope makes one yearn to once again swim in the ocean of life, from where all originate & return, reconnected to all that lived and will live. Faith makes it happen. ]

For everyone, this big, beautiful, BCN Mega Orb, thank you! Thank you, Georgia, for your kind support and this remarkable forum! Blessings!!!

And always, loving every one of you!!! >^.,.^<

You know it’s too hot when a Siamese complains about the heat. My Siamese trio would be looking for a sunny spot on days when the AC was running.

The BCN weather bureau should get the award for most accurate weather forecast. They nailed it with the rain. They nailed it with the weekend temperatures. And who can resist a meteorologist whose tie flies off in the wind, even if it’s the wind from a fan?

Give this a try – put down an old piece of carpet or plastic first (but cats might not take to being on plastic) because this could be messy. Take a plastic bowl (most of you know that you have a few – or more than a few – dessert topping containers squirreled away. SQUIRREL!!!!), fill it about 3/4 full and freeze it, and then set it out for the pets. Cool water for hours and ice to play with. Count on water getting spilled but less messy than ice cubes, especially if you have pets of the canine persuasion. Bigger tubs work better. Well, I should have said bigger containers. And please don’t overfeed the “tubs” since they tend to suffer a bit more in the heat. And as always, remember that it’s not the heat but the humanity that gets to us all.

Pancake Sunday at the Gleeneden Beach Community Center!

Eggs, sausage or ham, all-you-can-eat pancakes, OJ and coffee.

    $6ºº !!!

Can’t beat a deal like that.

Add to that the fact that i will be having breakfast with at least 3 ladies, and i would say that it has the potential of being a good morning.

I live in FL and this is how I feel. Humidity often registers 70-90%. I sweat through my shirt just by walking outside and feeding the stray cats. I feel so bad for them that I’ve turned my screened in porch into an area they can get out of sun. Except for naked, I’m a combo of Elvis and Puck

Good morning/day to all. As many have noted, this weather forecast is ripped from our local forecast (NH for me.) Purrrfection Georgia! I have always loved this one.

I want to ask for prayers, healing thoughts and positive energy for myself and my hubby. He broke a rib last weekend. I broke my ankle on Friday. We have just over a month before we go on an anniversary vacation. We are hoping to be mended enough to take the walking tours and I believe in the power of prayer and positive energy. Thank you in advance to all here at the nicest site on the net!

OT, I had to put our cat Salem down yesterday. She was more my mothers cat than mine but I still loved her. She hadn’t eaten over a day, was barely able to walk and yowled in pain whenever picked up. We had brought her to the vets for a routine weighing and grooming last Saturday and she seemed okay, shed lost .2 lbs which was less than I expected. When the doctor weighed he yesterday she had lost a pound in a week. So it truly needed to be done but I am still deeply sad.

At this moment a couple of crows are having a rather raucous scrap – I’ll assume over territory – and my boys are going crazy reporting on the incident. They’re swooping at each other, bouncing over my roof then the neighbour’s roof and finally onto the lawn. Dean’s racing between windows trying to get a better view of the action :)

Hey All!! I would like to ask for some warm support myself, please? One, I’m currently lying on my tummy with an ice pack on my low back. I allowed myself to get distracted while doing deadlifts. OWOWOWWIE!!! My low back is painfully seized, walking, moving, anything HURTS. And, being a single parent…… I’m really disappointed with myself – I can’t afford this type of mistake!!! :’(

Also, I’m in the middle of something kinda big here. Those two I’ve been “helping”, well, it’s really stressful. I’m trying to make a lot of judgement calls, and it’s all kinda confusing. (This back thing won’t help! HOPEFULLY I’ll be back up and running, SOON)

    THANKS ALL!!!

. . . we are on Day #4 on our suspected “mouse in our house”. We left home for the morning and just returned @ 1600hrs. Jim found the remains of a mouse in the bathroom, then tossed it over the fence into the park. So, this mystery has been solved and our local heroes are quite proud of themselves!
