Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Itâs good to see that Bernice and Luann have finally gotten around to talking about the events of last semester or is that this semester? I canât tell anymore what the timeline is.
Now this really made me have a good old fashioned belly laugh. Just the kind of snarky, ironic, and knowing humor a best friend would have at the expense of her friend. Timed and staged perfectly. Now the issue next is what more about Jack will be covered and will Bern suss out perhaps some sensual, and romantic interest on Luannâs part? The girl is going on 20, so sensual seems about right. We do seem to go backward from the most recent to further in the past. I fully expect, or at least hope for more good smiles, and maybe a couple more belly laughs over I think the next two weeks.
Luann is having a bit of (very) selective memory in the second panel. The artist was hiding behind her easel and could barely look up from her lap. Got to save face in front of Bernice, but she (Lu) is missing the chance to talk about the experience.
Well when I was Luannâs age, seeing a naked guy would make me feel awkward too. I took art in college but never had a naked model in class. Later on when I became a professor, I learned that the practice is now prohibited. Wonder if Greg and company are aware. After all Luanniverse donât always parallel the reality.
WOW! â Lookit Luannâs expression in the first frame when she blurts out âJack!â Then she gets her panties in a knot when she thinks Bernice is going to make fun of her. However I think Tara could get Luann to look at herself. I could see Luann and Tara running into Jack â Tara flirts with Jack momentarily which he responds to â then when they leave, Tara says to Luann, âSee, you gotta get your hooks into him or somebody else will.â
Although a lot of the posters here complain when the arcs seem to go back to high school themes (fights between the girls over the boys), many of the posters are still high school snarkers with all this insistence that Luann is only about getting with Jack. She couldnât possibly be thinking about a career as an artist. Or a career at all. Just âgetting her hooks into Jackâ.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Yap, Yap, YAP. WHERE is that Food? Is Ox personally Plucking that chicken or something?
Oh by the way BERNICE. Did You ever get around to giving Luann âHerâ share of the Scammed Lingerie Money. that TIFFANY so SELFLESSLY and FEARLESSLY recovered for ALL of You earlier this Year? You remember Tiffany, right? The Gal Yaâll LOVE to Bad MOUTH?
Luann isnât comfortable in admitting to Bernice that it was so weird she couldnât even look at Jack. Something tells me this friendship is on the wane.
I really hope that Luann will continue to follow the human figure drawing class. Sheâs skilled and would be a waste if she didnât keep going study.
I am really enjoying Berniceâs comments today. Very much in keeping with the teasing and verbal jousting that is common with good, long-term friends.
I am also glad that the conversation has moved from discussing Tiffany.
While I am happier with the conversation today, and it leads me to think this will be another week all about Jack, I would like to say that it would be wonderful if the conversation were to âreverseâ tomorrow, and Bernice tells us something more about her interactions with Piro. I am hoping that perhaps we may be able to segue into an arc where there is more interaction between Bernie and Piro.
I realize that Luann had never seen Jack nude, and that clearly she and her friends, unlike many other Californians, have never been to a nude beach or a hot springs, or a music festival, or even been in a housing coop where people were casual about clothing while going in and out of the shower, but I really canât relate to this sheer discomfort with the concept of a life drawing class. Why do I get the feeling that Luann and Bernice would dissolve into fits of uncomfortable giggles if they saw a picture of Michelangeloâs statue of David?
for those complaining about some browsers not opening up the comments section:
Iâve tried it with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Explorer . All worked.
Explorer was very slow at expanding the comments tho. Per Microsoftâs suggestion, you really should move to Edge.
If you are having this problem consistently, perhaps the problem isnât in the browser but in your âadd-onsâ. Check your ad blocker if any. Some anti-virus programs will also prevent some pages from loading properly ( Avast for example ). Check also that you have the latest version of your browser and Adobe Flash.
This sensual vs. sexual discussion reminds me of nauseous vs. nauseate. Tiffanyâs nauseous behavior sickens me. When I think of her I feel nauseated. Furthermore, I would like to pelt Tiffany with po-TAY-tos AND po-TAH-tos. Iâd even throw in a 1992 âPotatoeâ if I could find one.
I donât know Shakespeare, although I might have met him once in a tavern in my youth. But, didnât one of his dudes say something like, âMe thinks she protests too muchâ? And, Bernice has her libido-scan fine tuned today.
I took figure drawing two semesters in college and we had nude models at least one class a week. All of the sensuality goes out of it when youâre working on a project that defines your grade for the semester. This was in Texas, but in the swinginâ Seventies!
Whatâs missing from this pleasant little chat? Those stupid, intrusive cell phones, thatâs whatâs missing. These girls actually see each other, and talk. Whoa, spooky.

Now, if Tiffany would have been in art class then having this discussion, she would have handled it in a more classy manner.

So I guess Luann is a liar now too, in addition to a prude.
I canât wait until we get to hear how lyingâs not really lying when itâs the protagonist doing it (disgusted eyeroll).

Luann puts up a good front in the second panel. But these two are well aware of how the game goes. Theyâve been playing it since grade school.
Let the GAMES continue! :o)
