Pig should have elected to give the massive infection to the rest of the hospital. Then maybe, Acme would have elected to have done the right thing. If not, Acme needs to have new elections to remove all the ineffective employees.
I recall I tried applying for an Acme Health Plan. I believe they are located in the state with the capital of Austin; in fact I believe they are based in Austin. I do recall sending them a letter, but I misspelled the state name by mixing up two letters. The end result was a lot of hate mail about…well…you know….
…Obviously Stephan is an America-hati g counterculture McGovernik! Doesn’t"t he know our health system is the envy of the world? Why, everyone is cured! They show you that on TV. The invisible free hand, The magic of the marketplace. " Oh, there"s no one with assurance ce like the man who sells insurance…"!!!
“Have MRSA, have MRSA, baby.” I used to love that song. I used to go to a bar where the girls did a strep tease to it. It gave me chills. But these days they just want their pound of flesh and healthcare & insurance just leaves me feeling dead inside.
From viewing Mr Pastis’s strips this week me thinks he had a run-in with an insurance company ! Stephan how much did your insurance go up by because of O-Bum-Er -care?
Could you imagine if other companies did this? Like you bought a movie ticket, and there was a guy at the theatre whose job was to figure out reasons not to let you in to see the movie?
Republicans claim that there are too many laws. But the fact that insurance companies are allowed to refuse insuring you after you’ve been paying them for decades means there should be at least one more.
My mom had to visit an emergency room while we were visiting England. There was no bill, even though we explained that we were Americans. They said they didn’t have anyone to make out a bill, they were busy actually taking care of people.
Better off in not paying for the insurance and just putting the money you would’ve spent on insurance and putting it away for when you actually need it for such reasons
The idiocy (lack of common sense) is spreading from insurance companies to 911 dispatchers. Just read a story that a dispatcher refused to help a mom who accidentally locked her baby in her hot car by saying that they can’t help her since she locked her own keys in her car that the most they can do is send roadside assistance to unlock her doors. She kept saying that her baby is in the car and that it’s hot and getting hotter.
Eventually, the mom had to find something to bash the back window in to save her baby. In the images you can see what looks like blood on the broken glass. The 911 dispatcher is “on leave during the investigation”. It’s insane!
There have been a couple of headline stories recently about “providers” refusing to approve procedures that promised to be both less risky and more effective, because there were “insufficient” examples recorded of the procedures’ effectiveness. And if these patients were unable to find other ways to fund such procedures — which in both cases reported were magnificently successful, — then the number of examples (whether effective or not) would have been no greater, and so still quoted as “insufficient”, thus denying others such life-saving treatment.

Give Acme some Acne and let them sort it out.

It’s bad when dental insurance and medical insurance disagree about who should cover a procedure and they change it after the fact.

like I said a while ago, this must be the same Acme Health Insurance that also deals with Wile E. Coyote

Any industrialized nation that has its citizens asking themselves, “Can I afford to see the doctor?”, should not be allowed to call itself civilized.

I’m still impressed that the hospital did anything about the infection without giving him something worse.

I wonder if Acme also sells pork products. Then covering Pig’s operation would be a conflict of interest.

Clearly this is a cartoon. He got an actual person who works for the insurance company on the phone.
