Megan herself could probably make a better Grasshopper than she was just served, but she wasn’t going to make a big deal about it. Tre-C had only had one in her lifetime, but she remembered it well. “Kind of small, isn’t it?” “I’ve had better… but that’s not why we’re here.” Tre-C nodded, then went in for a few healthy laps of her drink. “Well, it’s good and cold. You feeling anything yet?” “My pulse is not racing,” Megan replied with a shrug. “The décor is promising and I can see the props up in the rafters, but nothing’s happening. Well, the night’s young and we are early.” “Well, what exactly are we looking for- maybe I can nose around some before the entertainment starts.” Megan shook her head; “No, the “entertainment” is one of the things we’re here to observe. Fun is fun, and we do love to play. I’m no puritan by any means. But there is an element I do not approve of- it’s a negativity that spreads. I just need to..” Megan was stopped mid-sentence by something she saw out of the corner of her eye. A tall, lean Abyssinian carrying a large silver serving tray with a cloche that appeared to be smoking. Just to the left of the “Abby” was a short, stocky Tuxedo marked shorthair (“NOT domestic”) Tom that had a mark on his chest resembling a bow tie. All the swagger of Captain Jack Sparrow, but with the look of Peter Lorre. This was the operator of “chatnoir’, Mr. Nibbles…
I like Garfield’s Halloween Adventure, but It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is the greatest Halloween special. You’re more likely to find it played on TV every year. Certainly tops on my list of must watch Halloween specials and movies. And TV show episodes. And that’s a long list.
What do Puck and Linus have in common? They both believe an imaginary Benefactor will rise from the Pumpkin Patch and bring treats to everyone! The Great Pumpkin, the Mailman – - alter egos? Stay tuned folks!
Look, folks, im keeping an open mind, and I’m prepared to follow solid evidence. But right now these tales of a supernatural character who sneaks around with a big sack of bills for the naughty and letters for the nice, delivering them on Mailday morning, just seem a bit far fetched.
Okay, I totally have WHAT SHOULD I BE? stuck in my head now. Garfield’s Halloween Adventure is paws down my all time favorite. I mean, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is cute, but GHA is actually scary (don’t tell me those ghosts chasing Garfield and Odie down isn’t scary, especially for little kids) and Halloween is all about getting your goosebumps up.
Well, the mailman has left me much more presents than the Great Pumpkin ever had. Though I always though the Great Pumpkin was a sorry marketing ploy by Schultz that, thankfully, never caught on.
Good morning all. I met THE WOMAN, the Creator of this magnificent comic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE WOMAN who set the tone for this community that brought us all together!!! I am happy to report that she is exactly the same in person as she is here. It was such an amazing experience, it felt like I was meeting a friend, I was in awe of her but felt very comfortable hugging & talking with her. We were able to chat about 10 mins or so, she signed my book, and I bought the pins of the boys in their jammies and the wrestling print which she signed as well. She had on a beautiful Halloween themed dress or blouse & her hair looked fabulous, all in place – anyone who has watched her live on FB will appreciate that ;) (I have a pic, but not sure how to post it here, but will try to a bit later). I told her how much we loved her, that everyone sent hugs, & boops, how grateful we are to her for bringing such joy to us all and how courageous she was for taking the chance to create this strip. I hope someday everyone here gets the opportunity to meet Georgia in person, it’s made the top 10 list of best moments of my life!
Oh, yeah, just for the record, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is the best Halloween special I’ve seen. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never watched Garfield but will this year. Also loved Hocus Pocus. Someday though, we’re all going to be saying that the Breaking Cat News Halloween Special is the greatest of all time!!
If anyone sees the Garfield H. A. scheduled on TV, please let us know. I confess I have never seen it and now I really want to. I hope it shows up this Halloween.
Hocus Pocus is great, watched it recently after not having seen it for years and realized that the colonial boy with the gorgeous eyes is played by Sean Murray, who’s also Agent McGee on my favorite show, NCIS! Still gorgeous but silver fox Mark Harmon rules!
Lupin should be played by a deaf actor with his special intonation. Or by Harrison Ford. Elvis should be an oriental actor, and Puck should be the slightly overweight personality who did hgtv’s house hunters and also Beat Bobby Flay as a judge.
Speaking of mailmen & cats, have any of you good folks ever read “Beware of Cat: And Other Encounters of a Letter Carrier” by Vincent Wyckoff? It’s a hoot.
Hi, here is an update for the Mega-Orb on Pam’s (ppyfss) condition. She had a stroke on her right side. She is currently sedated, in isolation, and unable to speak. Two of her friends from MENSA are taking care of her cats and her apartment and are the only ones currently allowed to visit her. They are in touch with her friend Sharon, who is kind enough to keep me in the loop. Please, orbsters, let’s send lots of positive thoughts and prayers and healing vibes in Pam’s direction, in the hope that she will come through this OK. Thanks to everyone in advance.
This from a friend of ppyfss that contacted me today.
She has been moving her left side; stroke was on the left side of her brain, so the right is paralyzed, at least for now. She’s opening her eyes now & then but not conscious or aware. They’re treating her for MRSA in her bloodstream but aren’t concerned; the course of antibiotics should take care of it. Also, she did aspirate so has some problems with lungs.
Also, we have conformation of the Hospital that she is in.
I may have lost my mind briefly this morning. Spent about five minutes calling Dee for breakfast – like I thought the deaf kitten was going to come running when I called like her brothers do! McDuff gave me the oddest look, sighed, and went into the living room to bring her in. At least Duffy loves his baby sister enough to make sure she eats, even if his momma doesn’t have good sense lol.
I agree, Garfield’s Halloween Adventure IS the greatest Halloween cartoon! :D Garfield’s Thanksgiving and Christmas are both good too (especially Jon’s Grandma!).

Third best. The reporters need to watch Hocus-Pocus with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. Best. Halloween. Movie. Ever.

I want some ideas of which actor’s should portray the voices of which BNC characters?
Or should the actors be relatively unknown?
