Doonesbury is ok without politics; he is excellent with politics. After this past week, people need something. There were 3 major hate crimes/acts of terror this week alone. 1. 2 black people were shot for being black at a grocery store. 2. Several people were sent bombs for being Democrats. 3. Several were killed and some were injured while at a synagogue yesterday. All of these incidents should have been times when our POTUS stepped up and acted like a leader. After the synagogue killings, it seems apparent that he is going to begin pressing for the death penalty, which we already have. He also called for armed guards at places of worship. Some of those shot yesterday were armed cops. I will never possess a gun and have told my family if anything happens to me, do not kill for me.
To Ignatz I’d like to reply that who you are doesn’t determine what you like. I’m 87 and female, and I have grudging admiration for Frank Zappa. And to pauljmsn I’d like to ask who — ever since the strips began — ever didn’t love BD. Name me a character, from Daisy Doonesbury of the Tea Party to Alice of the streets, who wasn’t irresistible.
I used to have a student who was battling Krohnes disease. She was fearless. For a time she had to have a clostomy bag. That didn’t stop her from wearing her bikini and going to the beach with her family on Spring Break.
And Boston Dynamics had one of their rigs dancing to Uptown Funk this week (or at least I saw the vid this week). Maybe BDs ready to join up on Dancing With Stars?

This isn’t the BD of my youth.
… Actually, I kind of like him.

Excellent strip. From naming his prosthesis, to boasting about it, to showing it off, to his choice of steppin’ out music, to embarrassing Sam.

Don’t want to be a killjoy, but IP67 is a water immersion rating, not a weather rating. Means it’s waterproof to 1 meter depth.

I refuse to believe that someone B.D.’s age wants to hear “Uptown Funk.”

Marrying a movie star has its benefits. She buys him fancy accessories that most vets couldn’t afford, and she had his helmet surgically removed.
