For all you Texans out there, a haboob is a real thing. It’s a single very strong blast of wind caused by a collapsing thunderstorm.

That term definitely fits Caulfield’s brainstorms. They annoy everybody in the area.

For some people, it is the sound of the single brain cell bouncing around. :)

Caulfield is being Caulfield again.

It should have sudden flashes of illumination as a major feature.

I had to look it up. It fits the brainstorming model well, it’s a bunch of hot air.

Always thought of Caufield as an EF5 Tornado. Completely and Udderley rearrange reality.

Haboobs usually last only 10 to 30 minutes, but on rare occasions can last longer and create hazardous conditions on the ground.”

In California we have Santa Ana’s, which right now are contributing to the firestorms we are having.

I’ve only heard of them in the Sahara or in Arizona. It’s a funny name….

Oh, I’ll admit it. I’ll own it. Part of me is cringing right now; this is not the best time for a climate joke to appear. My heart goes out to the wildfire victims in California, and that’s just right now. Living on Earth is a seriously risky proposition; big risk with huge consequences. On the other hand, I confess a more logical but less sensitive part of me is noting that storms and conditions are only getting worse, and getting that way more frequently, and pretty soon it will never be safe to try and mix the jet stream into the joke stream.

Also, I just re-read The Perfect Storm, by Sebastian Junger. I think it’s a terrific book. But if he’s not going to make the haboob joke, somebody has to step up.

It depends on how many ideas you have.
