Continuing to keep a daily vigil for SkyKey. Hope you’re OK buddy! (((((((((huge engulfing bear hugs, orb bumps, boops and purrs going your way)))))))))) And Georgia if you’re reading this and you happen to know how to get in contact with SkyKey, will you please let him know we’re very concerned for him. Xxxxx
Good morning and happy Caturday, orbsters and orbabies! Baba Mouse is a found of wisdom and great gentleness beneath her gruff exterior.
Poppet Bear, are you OK? I saw on the news last night the devastation in coastal BC and I hope you are far enough inland to have escaped it.
Skykey, if you are out there, buddy, we are all concerned for you. Georgia, if you do know how to get in touch with him, could you please let him know that we are all worried sick about him? Thank you so much.
Good morning all! Monday we took in another cat. We were at a strip center going out to our car and Carmela said “Did you hear a cat?” We looked over and a lady was by her truck and a guy from the store was under her car trying to get a cat out from underneath. We went over to help out and Carmela ended up half way under the truck trying to get this cat out. He was on the drive shaft and was wedged in there pretty good. She was able to get him out and she handed him over to me and I got him by the scruff of his neck and we moved away from the truck. The lady thanked us and drove off.
We went around the side of the building with him and he was quite content to snuggle in Carmela’s lap and was holding on to her. So what were we going to do, leave him there, no. Take him to a shelter, no. Take him home was what we did. He smelled like someone’s house so he wasn’t a regular outdoor cat and was fixed.
The next day we took him to our vet and had him scanned to see if he was chipped, nope so he is ours, currently #4. We are working him into our cat family and it is going quite well. He is a smart, lovey dovey guy, mostly black with markings like your Jasper, Sue Ellen. Carmela said black like coal so we named him “Cole.”
No matter if you call them “Grandmother”, “Nana”, “Nona”, “Baba”, or some other name entirely, wise elder ladies (and cats) generally have a ton of wisdom and experience to pass on … it’s always wise to listen to them. Merry Christmas, Baba Mouse. :)
There is a story I saw today on one of the news sites that is so sweet….a little girl who had no way to buy a gift for her teacher carefully removed all the marshmallows from her school provided breakfast cereal, placed them in the plastic wrap from her plastic spork, securely tied the end and gave them to her teacher because the marshmallows are the sweetest part of her breakfast. The teacher posted the story which is apparently going viral. No I didn’t tear up, well….not too much….oh, ok, yeah, I did.

Underneath that gruff exterior, Baba Mouse is a very wise, sweet cat. We could all learn from her.

There was a song from, I think, the late 40s with Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor called “Chrissy The Christmas Mouse.” Relative of Agnes?

Alice is a bit Scrooge-ish. Baba needs to do a lil “spirited” talking to her and find out why she’s so grouchy, grumpy, un-Christmas-sey!!!

Baba reminds me a lot of my grandmother. She was crabby and crusty, but all 18 of us cousins knew she would walk through fire for us.

Sis: If you didn’t realize up tot this point but Baba Mouse is based off a character in Georgia’s other comic: Swan Eaters
