Since Delta left the comic strip, it’s lost its diversary. Sometimes I think Bernice has lost her sensary. I think it’s because she attends a universary. With Les as a regular character, the comic strip definitely seems more perversary. Some think Ann Eiffel is a witch because of her sorcary.
“Why” do “folks” do such things, Luann? An Interesting but difficult question to answer.
However, Some of Us are still wondering:
1) “Why do fools fall in Love?”
2) “What becomes of the broken hearted?”
3) “Who let the dogs out?”
4) “Why’d did “They” change the Klingons?”
5) Why two people who’ve “known each other forever,” can’t put their electronic devices down long enough to have good old fashion face to face conversation with each other?
Lord knows Luann, with the events that transpired at the Gulag back in February, YOU have a lot to TALK about……., ;)
If I was the kind of person who would use any excuse to make a lame pun, I might say something like, “What did Puddles do when he was standing next to another dog? He did some parallel barking.” Thankfully, I’m no like that.
No matter what the culture or language, the universal response to a pun is GROANING. Sadly for YOU, Bernice, you will NEVER find a place where ‘punsters are appreciated’.
My husband and I still celebrate our first date-iversary…and we’ve been married 40 years. We also celebrate the incarc-iversary of the man who attempted to murder us nearly 20 years ago.
This is one of the better Sunday foible panels I have seen recently. Not because of the puns, which were both cringe-inducing and funny, but because they show the relationship between two old BFF’s. Good friends can tease each other, often do, and deal with some of the foibles of their friends, but because of the love and importance of the relationship will persevere through everything. My lesson, is a real friend will drop everything to help a BFF if needs really comes up. Not with expecting anything in return, only because she/he cares. That is a good Sunday lesson —PREACH REV!!!!
Cute, clean drawing. Puddles is always a plus and Bernice actually looks good in panel 3. They both look like innocent 12 year olds. Dialog a bit ponderous. They should be talking about something lighter like Prince Harry, his fairy tale bride, and whether or not they would like marrying a real prince some day. Bernice deserves a medal because after 34 years, I know I would have trouble getting up off the floor.
Spare us the pedantic humor, Bernice. Why don’t you get a date and go out? Luann is screwed up enough on her own without your help making her more so….

As much as I have Facebook, sometimes I wonder why there are anniversaries of posting such events that isn’t wedding, birthday, and such.

My initial thought was this is a lame Sunday strip, but thanks to Brdshtt I now know this is a sly nod to Luann’s own anniversary. Not so bad then.

It is certainly true that those of us who enjoy a good (or bad, for that matter) are frequently booed or otherwise discriminated against.

Did she mean averse – as in, Luann is averse to puns? Because adverse means "less than ideal, as in, “lived in adverse conditions.”
