Nancy Pelosi is doing Trump a favor (and responding to national security realities) by refusing to allow Trump to bully his way into a constitutionally-mandated report to congress on the state of the union in the form of a speech.

The Constitution does not specify that the State of the Union report has to be a speech. Prior to Woodrow Wilson in 1913 (106 years ago), presidents complied with this constitutional requirement in the form of a written report. At the dawn of radio, Wilson recognized a PR opportunity and every president since has made a speech before a joint session of congress.

Because of Trump, the U.S. has surrendered to Russia, the government is shut down, and the State of the Union is that Trump has destroyed the nation and millions of people (federal workers, their families and dependents and federal contractors and all the ancillary businesses that cater to federal centers) are suffering and could lose their homes, cars and destroy their credit unions.

No honest State of the Union message (speech, written report, or whatever) could present a positive picture of our nation today.

Of course, “honest” has never been a term associated with this criminal, traitor “president.”

Right about where we’d expect it to be with Captain Douche-bag at the helm.

Who will he blame when there’s an incident involving planes?? The air controllers union issued a dire warning this morning about air safety. Why do we still put up with him?

Well, well. Depends on your perspective, doesn’t it? This cesspool was the state of the Union under Obama and Hillary — lying, hypocrisy, sanctimony, etc. Remember Harvey Weinstein and Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer and Les Moonves? … all these a-holes flourished under Obama — big contributors to Democrats while abusing young women. That was the cesspool. I could give other examples (e.g. in higher ed when men accused of rape were assumed guilty and deprived of due process? — that legacy of Obama years is being overturned. That was a cesspool. Remember how the Veterans Admin was run? That was a cesspool. That’s been changed for the better.) I could go on and on… bottom line: The Union is better now. It’s just the ugliness from Hollywood and Democrat leaders and yes, you sad infants here who create the atmosphere of viciousness and chaos. Toxic sanctimony! Lives here.

I think we all know what the state of “The Union” is.

I can just envision the written version of the State of the Union report: “America is on it’s way to being great again!!! Really, really great!!!! Greatest ever!!!!! YUUUGELY great!!!!!! I told you only I could fix it. Furthe ….. SQUIRREL!”
