    “…count Presidential hopefuls.”

    That’s advanced math.

But let’s not pretend that it’s only the Democrats. If (when?) Trump is prevented from running in 2020, the cascade of Republican hopefuls will likely rival Niagara Falls.

Appears they will be learning progressively higher numbers in the next year. Then comes subtraction.

It will be interesting to see. Trump, in disregard of Reagan’s advice, took sides in Republican Primaries. Will any ReTrumplican take sides against Trump in the 2020 Republican Primaries.

Trump is very unpopular. The odds that he will lose to anyone with a pulse (possibly optional) are great. Everyone who has ever won a city council seat has daydreamed that it was just the beginning of a skyrocketing political career leading straight to the Presidency. Given those two facts, we are going to have a huge number of people running in the Democratic primary. This is a good thing on one hand, because it gives us so many choices that several of them have to be really good. But, the old Will Rogers quote comes to mind; “I don’t belong to any organized political party, I’m a Democrat.” The Republicans aren’t just organized, they are regimented. If the Democrats don’t come together on the person who finally wins this marathon, Trump could win another four years.

Why all the stupid commotion about this? Right now (though it does change pretty quickly) there are 10 candidate announced with 2 -3 more having set up exploratory committees. Still hasn’t matched up to the 16 that the rethugs had in 2016.

I remember in 2017 the Dems were laughing at the number of Republican candidates.

Frankly, regardless of party, the more the better. Unfortunately we always seem to end up with putzes and morons on both sides of the ticket.
