I happen to live in the West Coast whereas my older brother’s family lives in the East Coast. I’ll have to ask them if they noticed the butters’ differences.
Heard a funny story about those butter sticks— seems one company (and I don’t remember which), many years ago, tried creating a stick that was in between the two in shape, so they could sell it everywhere without needing two sets of molds. They almost went bankrupt because people refused to buy butter, even of a brand they had been buying for years, that was a slightly different shape than they were used to.
I’ve wondered about that butter thing. We moved to Texas eight years ago and only recently found normal butter. The short fat things don’t fit regular butter dishes! If you’re out here and want standard butter, go join Sam’s Club.
I wonder why sticks of butter are different on the two coasts? I also wonder why mayonnaise from the same company is called Hellman’s on one side of the country and Best Foods on the other?
Pope St. John Paul II was born on the day of a total solar eclipse (May 18, 1920), was made pope on the day of a total solar eclipse (April 7, 1978) and died 6 days short of a total solar eclipse (died April 2, 2005; eclipse April 8).

Mark Twain had said for many years. That he would die when Halley’s Comet returned.

I am trying to figure out what kind of stuff you could buy at Walmart in a single purchase that would add up to that much.

About Mark Twain: he predicted he would depart this Earth when Halley’s Comet appeared in 1910 and he CALLED IT.

On th sticks of butter: They come from short and stubby cows. I don’t understand why they find this so unusual!

Lot’s of people born that year and died in 1910, of course. Around the world.

I still think John Adams and Thomas Jefferson dying on the 4th of July is one of the weirder occurrences.

I buy the half sticks, they’re short and skinny. It’s the best of both worlds… :-)

Just remember: it’s not the length of your butter, but how you use it.

Come on RBION, nothing unique or unbelievable about Mark Twain. What made it stand out is that he foretold it.
