P.S. For those who didn’t see the update to my yesterday’s comment, that is a fresco, rather than an oil on canvas painting.

She exuded a rustic charm/ and she had a great “pitching arm”/ but “delay of the game”/ deprived her of fame/ and she never escaped from the farm.

The game being not yet invented/ the hay pitching never relented/ but the nasty intrigues/ of the two “major leagues”/ she neither endured, nor resented.

She knew that she couldn´t have a roll in the hay without a haystack.

Mathilda: seeing how cows make milk, is putting away a supply for herself for when she gets pregnant
