Why is it that carrying a copy of the Constitution of the United States in front of a Reich wing politician is now like showing a cross to Count Dracula?
The Electoral College is about as obsolete as the three corner hat. Eliminating the Electoral College is about as difficult as getting Trump to tell the truth. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The NPVIC guarantees that the winner of the popular vote will become the President of the United States. Get your state to join NPVIC.
Instead of a straight line between the far left and the far right, I think it is more like a circle. The government we would have if either end took over is an all powerful one.
So many comments and so little critical thinking. People who cannot spell or capitalize The Constitution consistently really shouldn’t comment about it. Along those lines, those who don’t understand the difference between weather and climate should just shut up when it comes to discussing climate change.
@mattro53: Embedded in the original document is the right to speak one’s mind freely and openly. That right has stood the test in every situation where freedom of speech has arisen. Weak language mechanics does not negate a person’s right to speak his/her mind on any issue, including those that affect the entire nation.
To all those who mentioned a certain real estate location, hats off to you, obviously you got Willy Miller’s gag. To everyone else, I think you need to take it down a notch or two, your rhetoric isn’t helping matters.
I make no derogatory comments toward any one party or person. Legislators are charged with making all laws necessary and proper for executing the constitution. The President is charged with faithfully defending and protecting the Constitution of the United States. The judicial power rests with the Supreme Court. IMHO, all need to set aside their partisan politics and work for the common good, not just their base.
A few years ago, while in Toastmasters, I distributed "table topics’ based upon various constitutional amendments. I was shocked and disheartened to realize that most of the people in that room had no clue what was in the constitution especially with regard to religious freedom and taxes. One person’s freedom does not and cannot come at the expense of another’s.
Okay, I’ve had enough of this BS. I came here to read the “funnies” and wasted my time reading about various individual’s interpretations of the Constitution and what it allows and doesn’t allow and so on and so forth. But what really gets my goat is the whining about big (and small) companies/corporations and what they pay or don’t pay in taxes. What I don’t hear in these “discussions” is what they pay into FICA taxes. (Don’t know what that is? Look it up.) Exxon Mobil had 71,000 employees in 2018. Imagine what their FICA tax bill amounted to. Now consider the State and local income/property taxes they paid out nationally. Oh, and how about all the taxes their employees paid out to the various state and local jurisdictions they reside in, not mention how their salaries contributed to their local economies. And before someone cries about the “rich” not paying their fair share of income tax, the last figures I saw were that the top 20% of income earners paid 87% of the income taxes. Any of you ever worked for a poor man/woman? I haven’t.

The Ten Commandments and the US Constitution have a history in common: it is rare that any two individuals have ever agreed on their application.

Too bad Boy Scouts of America is on the decline. Less young men (and now young women too) will be getting Citizenship in the Nation merit badge, which includes (among others) the following requirements:4. Discuss each of the following documents with your counselor. Tell your counselor how you feel life in the United States might be different without each one.(a) Declaration of Independence(b) Preamble to the Constitution© The Constitution(d) Bill of Rights(e) Amendments to the Constitution5. List the six functions of government as noted in the preamble to the Constitution. Discuss with your counselor how these functions affect your family and local community.

Constitution? The Democrats never heard of it. Remember how they all cheered when Obama boasted about violating it?
