Programmed from childhood to be neat and organized, I have a place for everything and — usually — everything is in it’s place but I realize that can be a challenge in a home with 2 or more residents.
Our old TV stopped responding to the remote, so we bought a new remote; still didn’t work. There are controls on the screen, but it’s really difficult to change inputs (we use it for a computer monitor, Blueray, etc). So, new TV time. Moved the old one to the exercise room along with an old laptop and use it for watching videos while on the treadmill.
A few months ago, we had the AT&T guy actually have to come into our home to fix the cable. Since he was here, he programmed each of our AT&T remotes to work for the set up in that room which is no longer an easy task. There’s one remote out in each room and it does everything connected to that TV. Wonderful! At least until we upgrade a TV.
I have to laugh. We have a remote caddy that right now is holding 6 remotes that we use all the time. One for the TV, 2 for the DVD carousels, one for the blu-ray player, one for the streaming device and one for the stereo.

That’s why you should never throw anything away. You never know when you’re going to need it (just kidding!)

There have been times I could’ve used some kind of locator to find my remote.

Squeeze a cat the right way and I bet it would emanate the right frequencies. Yes, including infrared out of its ars and RF out of its eyes.

Earl is practicing dumpster diving for later when the pension & “so called” Social Security are belly up, and the nest egg is depleted.
