My history is a bit rusty but I believe Sandwich, Hoagie, Contessa Blimpie II of Sub-Marinae, and Phillip of Cheesesteak were the principal combatants in the Lunchtimic Wars during the Age of Heroes. It’s only fitting that countless historical re-enactors pay homage to that great conflict from 11 AM to 2 PM daily…
The story was that the Earl Of Sandwich loved gaming so much that he refused to be interrupted for a meal. So he opted for meat in between two slices of bread, and the sandwich was born.
Fun fact: the Fourth Earl of Sandwich’s incompetent management of the Royal Navy during the American War of Independence is one of the factors credited with costing Britain the war.
