“Mind wandering,” yes; “wool-gathering,” maybe? Daydreaming? I’d hope everyone has more tantalizing prospects to daydream about than that!

I disagree. Googling has taken the backache and frustration out of researching answers. When I used to have a question like that, I’d pull out the big dictionary, then go further and check the encyclopedias. When we drove across country on vacation, I had a tote full of reference books! I like Googling.

If it developed from the flower of a plant, it is a fruit. If it is the plant itself, it is a vegetable.

I have quit “Googling” because China doesn’t need to know what I am looking up!

If it’s not an animal nor mineral it’s a vegetable.

In biology, it’s a fruit. In the kitchen, it’s a vegetable.

According to google; Botanists see sweet peppers as a fruitAccording to botanists a fruit is the part of the plant that contains the seeds. The other parts of plants are considered vegetables. In the world of botany, you can therefore describe sweet pepper as a fruit, rather than a vegetable.

Depends on what your intended use is; The botanical definition of fruit and the culinary definition of fruit is different.

Both. A vegetable is any plant used as food.

But, since “fruit” is conventionally used for the seed bearing part of a plant which has high sugar content, it’s not strictly a fruit.

Count me tired of the fruit vs. vegetable “controversy”.
