I’m with Opal. I have a printer sitting here with 7 +/- years of dust. It has never worked. Were it new it would have gone back to the manufacturer 7 years ago.

Take it to Staples; they will recycle it for free. Viola! New flat open space to put something else on it.

My stupid printer decided to stop printing too. It seems to be a problem with the USB port on the printer because when I plug the printer into the USB port on the computer, I don’t hear the sound it’s supposed to make for a new device or whatever. But if I plug anything else into those USB ports on the computer, it does make that sound. So I’m pretty sure the fault lies with the printer, not the computer. Sometimes “things” are stupid and they drive me crazy.

Sometimes you can buy a new printer cheaper than new ink cartridges.

Some day our Brothers HL-1440 will die, but today is not the day. Might actually get retired, because my wife wants a wireless one.

I have resolved these issues more than I care to think about it. And no, I didn’t use a 30 lb sledge hammer.

We used to have a store called “OINK” who would refill cartridges for you for a much lower price. They went out of business, and now I have to pay full price for one of the danged things.

Paper jam doesn’t spread on bread. It also tastes bad.

I used to have that problem on my work printer! Usually found a tiny piece of paper hidden in the mechanism. Luckily I’m retired and don’t care anymore! Plus I have a very user friendly home printer.

True, mine does that, but fool it by opening it up, unplug the cartridges and plug them back in, unplug the printer’s power and plug it back in 5.333 times, unplug its cable and reboot your computer twice then plug the cable back in to reinstall printer drivers, and run Windows Update just to be sure. and Voila the printer is reborn!

Best Buy recycles old electronics as well. I have used HP printers for years because they offer their ink online through HP Instant Ink. No refilled sub par ink, the same you buy anywhere for triple the cost. Starts at $2.99 a month depending on how many copies you make. They also recycle the old cartridges for free.

I always wondered about paper jam. I get it about strawberry  jam, but I haven’t eaten paper since I was a kid!

(In the background, Harry Belefonte is singing Day-Oh  and I’m wondering if anybody has ever made banana  jam.)

I’m still using some HP printers that are pushing 20 years old. As long as I can get ink for them, I’ll keep using them. The new ones by Canon and HP are crap.
