I knew that money had to be tight for them and it turns out that they spent everything on the budget bomb blast that was a dud. It seems they’ve reached a dead end. Where will they turn?
Splitface CAN make good use of his prior exploits. If he guides Clybourne through a plan to rob a local competition of all their prize money, he’ll in effect have trained his new “crow” to steal the “purse”!
1-SHADY: That was a lot of trouble for a little bit of entertainment Grandpa…
2-…Maybe next time we have a night out we should just take in a movie. We could get popcorn and Milk Duds. And the movie theater is heated!
3-GRANDPA: What? The fire ain’t enough heat for ya? Movies? Why back in my day we created our own entertainment. We didn’t have money for ‘movies’! I’ll have you know me and my friends started the Chicago fire and blamed it on Mrs. O’Leary’s cow! Now that was fun! And warm. And the Hindenburg? Forget aboud it! That was me and my pals shooting bottle rockets! I could go on and on!
When Claybourne says “we’re outa cash boss” I take that to mean they don’t have the money to buy any materials to make bombs. Between the two of them, they don’t own anything of value which could be taken to the pawn shop. Unless Staton and Curtis has another villian waiting in the wings (no pun intended) it would behoove to keep these two around for a while.
There has to b some other recycled bad guy out there to help them out…Pouch? Mr. Bribery?. The “creators” will think of something to take the strip further back to the 60s
Clyborne: " I know! I’ll find my old pals Mike, Davy, and Peter…no, wait Davy and Peter are dead now. Well I hear Mike’s filthy rich enough that he retired decades ago…."

I have to admit, they make a nice couple. Like Oscar and Felix, Bert and Ernie, Hawkeye and BJ, Clyburne and Splitface.

A whole lot easier, and cheaper, for Splitface to do this the old fashioned way. The quick-draw, at noon. High noon. In the center of town.

I suppose Splitface might be able to get a job in a carnival sideshow, if there is a carnival in town. Clybourne could moonlight as Mob muscle….
Cash is tight. It isn’t easy, being would-be murderers these days in Tracyville!
