I get that they do not have citizenship, and therefore are not “Canadian” geese, but following that logic, why do we call certain bugs Japanese beetles, and not Japan beetles?
Well, Mr. Goose, there are exceptions. Some Canada geese are native to the US, and when flying south for the winter they remain in the US – they are called Canada geese. However, some Canada geese are from Canada, and when they fly south, they fly into the US as well. As those geese are from Canada, they are in fact… “Canadian geese”.
