When exactly did Eileen become that good at math? The one time she did better than Jason, she studied like mad and he didn’t and still got a 102 vs her 104. Otherwise she was usually depicted as one of the smarter kids but not absurd genius like him.
Given that Jason appears to be about 9-10 yrs old, his math homework couldn’t be more difficult than long division or fractions … in which case he can find an app for his smart phone to self check himself.
This could go two ways; either he is tricking her into verifying his answers or he is concerned that if she agrees with an answer, it must be wrong…I’m assuming the latter (sorry to go all Sheldon on this!)

Math is actually pretty much self-checking: Once you have what appears to be the answer, you just plug it into the problem and see if it works.
Yeah, yeah: SOME algorithms are effectively irreversible, but I doubt they appear at this level in school.

It means that they’re equally smart.

I think it’s, he caught a dumb mistake by Paige making the same dumb mistake, which he knew she would do…a bit of a stretch, this one.

Well, Jason, if you’re making dumb mistakes, Eileen may just beat you out.
