P1, Mr. Bobblehead shouts out the “F” word as he commits his error.

P2, Luckily for Milford, Tilden is even worse than they are.

P3, Gonzo channels his future slow pitch softball self by striking out the last batter with his patented eephus pitch.

Agree with BStarFish. Gonzo looks ready for the beer league. Even his face is puffed out. It’s like this kid went to the Training Table of True since we saw him last week.

What. The. Hell? Check out the colorized version, because apparently there are three teams on the field. The Tilden infielders are wearing blue and white, but their outfield is wearing black and red. While Milford is wearing solid red. WHAT IS GOING ON?

And speaking of going on, Mopped Up Thorp is going on as usual, right here: https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/

Yesterday, the Second Baseman was on one knee picking up a dribbler. How does a dribbler suddenly bounce that high and gain speed? Alright, Physics class here’s your assignment

Great….another week or so of ‘the mayor’ breathlessly describing his pathetic breakfast and giving people unwanted nicknames

P-1: The Second Baseman is thrown out of the game for not sneezing into his elbow while fielding

Unfortunately my one scenario, where The Mayor is the hero for starting a rally with his massive swinging bunt, came true. Can’t wait until tomorrow when he’s strutting around saying some stupid Mayor-like thing.

In all reality , is this the year Milford wins the State Baseball Championship or will all schools be closed due to the Corona Virus outbreak finally arriving in Milford ?

For shame Tilden! Back to town in your fleet of 1987 Chrysler New Yorkers!

Hmm, what does that sign on the fence say in P2? First word ends in S, second word ends in N. With an exclamation point! Best guess wins a prize.

Milford “wins ugly”. But, they’ll take it just the same!

So as far as state titles, I found this recap of the history of the strip, but it’s from 1993. So any titles in the 27 years since then (such as the football one) aren’t included.

    https://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-xpm-1993-09-08-0000005039-story.html

From the article: “Gil’s overall coaching record? 1,201 victories, 684 defeats, 16 ties, seven state basketball titles and six Valley Conference football titles, Shaughnessy reports.”

So I THINK, unless he’s won a basketball title since then, it’s 7 basketball titles, 1 football title, 0 baseball titles.

Also of note, Jack Berrill said that Milford is set in Connecticut. And Milford is short for New Milford, which is where he lived when he started the strip.
