(insert off-camera scene where Elvis, self-appointed bird expert, and Lupin, self-appointed arguing-with-Elvis expert, have a spirited discussion about whether “flightless bird” is an oxymoron)
Penguins aren’t limited to Antarctica. There are various types of penguin all the way up the Pacific coast of South America and in the Galapagos. There are penguins on the South African coast. Penguins live along the Australian coast.
(It is even said that there are penguins in New Zealand, but since New Zealand is just a myth, those penguins would be mythical as well. )
In panel 4, Puck looks like he is getting an idea. And people? Pengo is a TOY. It can’t move on its own (unlike Buzzy, when wound up). The toys move only in imagin..a….tion…… Um. Right. Sorry.
By the way, the nice team of Doctors here at Happy Acres have helped me realize that it was shear folly to think the cats are keeping me prisoner and that I have to run away to Australia (Rain-Check Robin?). It was all a big misunderstanding because of the unusual circumstance we all find ourselves in these days. If fact, one of the nice Doctor’s is helping me write this.
Okay he’s gone. Its not the cats, its the squirrels! They are always watching me through the window, and, and have you ever smelled them? They smell like concentrated evil, especially when they are damp. Those lawn rats don’t fool me…The truth is out there!
When I spoke to the doctor yesterday, she told me that Paul is currently unable to keep Boost down, and he has pneumonia. He will not be coming home until he can keep 50ml of Boost an hour down and the pneumonia clears up.
So, anyone know the answer to my Twenty Questions object?
Q: Animal, vegetable, or mineral?A: None of the above.
Q: Is it bigger than a breadbox*?A: Sometimes.
Q: Does it come in different colors?A: Yes.
Q: Does it come in different sizes?A: Yes.
Q: Do I (you) have one?A: Maybe.
Q: Can I (you) buy one at my (your) local store?A: No.
Anyone wanna ask another question?
*@youyounguns: A breadbox is a metal or wood box, usually with a sliding or hinged lid, to store bread and baked goods in at room temperature, lest it be spoiled by mold.
Today is Whirled Tapir Day … Oh, excuse me, I meant World Tapir Day. This is an ancient species: “Tapirs look something like pigs with trunks, but they are actually related to horses and rhinoceroses. This eclectic lineage is an ancient one—and so is the tapir itself. Scientists believe that these animals have changed little over tens of millions of years.” —_National Geographic_
And you wouldn’t want to whirl something weighing 500 to 800 pounds, anyway.
Back when I was teaching elementary school, at least two or three times a year we’d get a delivery of “Flat Stanley.” Perhaps they will soon start receiving photos and letters from all over the world showing the adventures of Pengo.

Pucky! There’s no room to fly in the Big Pink House apartment! Besides, penguins swim like nobody’s business! Check the bathtub and sinks!

Would love to see Pengo, Clucky Chicken, Pipa, and Buzzy Mouse hiding in a closet, playing cards, and using goldfish crackers for penny ante …

It is flightless. Might check outside. It may be trying to hitch a ride.

They had recent visitors. Did anybody check Sophie’s kitty carrier? Pengo could be part of an art installation.

Do they need to check the attic? Maybe Pengo went on a climbing exploration like Puck did.

With Pengo (not Pengu, as I always want to write. Totally different penguin) being on the news surely it can’t be long before they are found.
