When our first grandchild was born, I claimed to job of being the designated ‘BAD Example.’ It is a job title that I take seriously, and have resisted ALL take-over attempts(started because they felt I was having too much fun). I am the mean grandpa, but also, I am the FAVORITE relative. And many of you know how hard it is to beat out grandmothers for that title.

But.. it’s still fun.. the only downside is you don’t get to keep the tittle that long.

At least he is the Earl of the family.

I once heard marriage described as the event where the bride says “I do.” Then the groom says “I do,” and that’s the last he has to say in the matter.

The titles of “Grandpa” and “Grandma” can also be granted by a kid to an unrelated older person. Someone who is the appropriate age, and fulfills a grandparent type role in some way in the child’s life.
