Well, time stands still for Marx, but we sort of knew that anyway.

Clearing out the stray characters? Hm. I’m not a big fan of “all-powerful” characters, but perhaps Aaron is going to use Marx to clean up the whole storyline. Sorta like DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths – reset everything to get rid of a lot of the confusion and go back to a simpler theme of mutants and topsiders. Or not.

I imagine one of his stops will be at Wally’s, so he can reclaim his comic book.

It appears that Marx and his helpers (family?) are presently outside of time. They can’t sink in water if it’s frozen in time (previous strip). It also looks like he’s collecting individuals from Eden (or somewhere like Eden) who are likewise frozen in time.

These are two versions of Aaron Marx. We’ve seen the kid version of him in a fantasy sequence in 2015. Go to July 15 2015. And on consideration, think another version of Marx is the woman on horseback leading a charge (or a flight) during a nuclear war. Go to July 29 2015.

Now the song “Howard the Duck” is going through my head.

I like Marx better when he’s being a goofball..

Notice there’s a trace of dust still left behind? He stopped time, and brought more of ‘him’ as well. He’s a stand user confirmed.

Collectors. How much is a rare, good condition duck on the open market these days?

To everyone who said that when Marx showed up, things got explained. My counter-argument is this comic page. I miss Dr. Topsider Lady.

You’ve got to give him time! Aaron (either one) is not known for rushing the storyline. He likes to take his time to set everything up JUST right.

Due to the nature of this arc, I hope that Aaron isn’t thinking of ending the strip…

craigwestlake: The nature of everything lately makes me think this story is coming to a close.

In particular, now that the main story is painted into a corner (with toothbrushes, no less), our heroes having sealed themselves into that lighthouse (remember sealing the exit door),…

Methinks this is Marx rounding up the Cavalry, so to speak.

I’m really thinking, like Peter Schikele on the PDQ Bach record, Beethoven’s Fifth as interpreted by sportscasters, “That really does sound like final notes…”

I’m really enjoying the strip and have a hard time waiting for the next installment. But it seems like everything is being explained and Marx is on the path to save the multiverses or some version of it or even defeat the evil whatever. I can’t help thinking that Aaron is going to bring the story to a close and retire. Say it isn’t so, Aaron.

Why is the duck scared and running? Has he any reason (before he’s tossed) to fear Marx I and Marx II?

For all we know, the duck is one of “the chosen ones.” Marx may be rounding them up so that they can help do whaterver the chosen ones are supposed to do.

It appears that the duck is on the checklist in Aaron’s hand, pick him up and bring him along.

Great, as if there weren’t enough problems, now this one and it brought company!

I bet the duck doesn’t know what hit him.

It went to the laboratory dr Amesworths came from I think but it came back to or through Wally when he fell asleep on the boat.

When have we seen Mr. Duck before?

Another weird idea: Aaron is walking around as if in a three dimensional world. But if these worlds were worlds populated by comic strip characters (the premise for Endtown), wouldn’t they, of necessity, be two dimensional?
