Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I was in the running for âleast likely to win an awardâ but then I won the âleast likely to win an awardâ award and they had to strip it from me.
I also lost out on the âCatch-22â award to Dewey Taiket, who ironically didnât exist because his first name turned out to be Donny and his last name Dacket. Yeah, he just had a speech impediment.
I wondered if this was the storyline with the last panel punchline, which Iâve always remembered. Susieâs comment does show how everyone else seems to view Calvin. He does little to alter that perception. This is still a comic strip, and in reality six-year old kids (usually) grow out of their âincurable weirdnessâ phase.
My brother-in-law was once voted âmost likely to blow up the world.â He went on to a career in nuclear physics, but sadly didnât fulfill his destiny.

No fear, Calvin. You may not like this. But youâre probably safe from it in school.

Susie, at least, would never steer you wrong, even if you tire of her after sheâs spoke-n of you to the media!

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when youâre always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

Well, his life is never boring. And it is fun to try to imagine Calvin as an adult. Maybe more frightening than fun.

Remember that scene in âThor: The Dark Worldâ where Erik Selvig runs around Stonehenge naked? Thatâs what Susieâs last line made me think of.
