Even I try to keep myself unshaven for a few reasons: 1) to make me look older (I think I look like a teenager when shaved), 2) to feel like my Amish relatives (yes, I’m practicing Latter-day Saint, but some of my distant relatives are Amish), 3) to practice shaving with cream and razor rather than electrically.

Man that’s cold and likely not biblical.

One of my favorite aphorisms: We’re told that God loves everyone in the world, but you’ll notice that he does it from a considerable distance!

He probably feels the same way about his ear and nose hair.

I was scruffy before it was fashionable.

Simple solution, Earl – wear your mask all the time.

Opal always has to find fault with Earl, no matter what!

The Good Lord can see everything so he DOES have to look at Earl every day.

What is it with the stubble thing? I think it is so ugly. From a few feet away, it just look like the guy’s face is filthy and he probably stinks. And closer up, it’s even uglier.

Point. I think I’ll put on my going-to-work makeup.

If I were Earl, I’d consider jamming knitting needles into my ears. Pretty sure it would be less misery than continuing to listen to Opal.

I have sported a mustache all of my adult life and either or a beard or goatee for most of it, as well. For those guys who think growing a beard means less hassle, I’ve got news for them! It takes more time and trouble to maintain a well trimmed beard and mustache than to just scrape the stubble off your face every morning.

I have never been a fan of the scruffy look. Either grow the damned thing or shave! It doesn’t make you more macho with your week-old growth. It makes you look like the lazy slob you are and a wannabe celebrity.

One good thing about wearing masks. Cuts down on the need to shave every day because no one can tell.
