The fun part is, after so many years in retirement I don’t bother to try to tell the days apart anymore. I either have something I need to do or I don’t. Only specific day is trash pick-up day. They change that, I’m lost.
When I worked, I spent 40 years getting up at 5:30-6am. So, when I retired, my body’s time clock was set. I now wake up at the same time, and there’s no way I could possibly go back to sleep. I get up and make breakfast for my wife, who is still working.
It is so nice that we can burn ourselves out on Friday with the full knowledge that we can recover on Saturday. I miss Saturday morning cartoons though.
I live in a small “retirement” community (no on site staff) where (apparently) grandchildren now reside with their grandparents. At 11:15 pm I was awakened by teens the next street over. Trying to take a nap is pointless because no matter what day of the week, someone close by is using a mower/weed eater/leaf blower. Sleep in?? The motorcycle (or prick up with no muffler) across the street revvs up for action. Yep, lack of unbroken sleep makes me crabby!
I can’t sleep in Saturday because I have to fed the cats. (try telling them othrwise) Considering that Wiz’s pet is a dragon he’d better get hopping before he gets a hot for.

I think my vocabulary is lacking…
What are these things?
Sleeping in?
Vacation?
Day off?
Leisure Time?
I’m sure there are more! I just don’t have the time to look them up! ;)

My thoughts exactly – I got to sleep in for a luxurious two and a half hours (but only because the dog was still sleeping, too).

Let the king create and have his own spells. Long live the king, somewhere else.

Weekends always end up with little more sleep time. But not with that kind of break in between.
