What’s amazing is that they think they’re being tough guys, when they’re actually demonstrating that they can’t handle even a small discomfort, and that they’re the ones who bail during a crisis.
Active ingredients: compassion, care for others, empathy, and a sense of responsibility that goes beyond self. (It’s about honoring the social contract and respect for the commons – spaces we all share. We don’t smoke on airplanes to avoid negative impacts on our fellow passengers. Most people respect fire bans to prevent an undue impact on community resources, fire departments, police, the commons – our forests and open spaces, and out of concern and care for other homeowners/renters. How is this mask thing any different?)
We need to put everyone on Valium (mother’s little helper-rolling stones) twice a day so everyone is in their happy place, then maybe things would chill out. Yeah I no I’m a dreamer (lol)
Grow up, be an adult. Wear a mask or stay home to protect others. Screaming in a child’s face? I hope people who think that is normal think twice. A child’s face? It’s a respiratory disease. If nothing else, a mask reminds people not to touch their faces.
“Karen” reminds me of Vicky the babysitter (Fairly OddParents); btw, for those who hate Russia, like Ukraine, Poland, etc., would a comparison between Vicky and “Mother Russia” be weird?
There seems to be a couple names for the male-equivalent of ‘Karen.’ I have seen both Ken and Kyle. I wonder which one will win in the cultural zeitgeist. To the Thunderdome of Ire!
Actually there are a lot more “Karens” attacking non mask wearers than the other way around. Most non mask wearers don’t care if you wear a mask or not and believe in personal freedom. Many mask wearers also see it as a personal choice. The problem is when people on either side want to force their preference on others

I pity any rational, progressive women who happen to be named Karen in this time.

I need a case of that for work. I’m dealing with dozens if not hundreds a day at this point.
Wear a mask.

Imagine how much better our society would be if people just used common sense or get blast of “Ken and Karen” from Lio.

Aww, leave Karen alone. She’s my friend, and it’s just her name. Lazy. I don’t currently know any Kens, so fire away.

Karen’s name popularity for new births (SocSecAdmin) goes from 153 in 2000 to 187 in 2008 and is now 635 in 2018 (latest #). It is dropping fast.

Don’t waste time spraying people individually from a can. What we need is to get some crop dusters to fly overhead!
