I hope this is not going the way of Jan Elliott and Stone Soup. I do love the rerun of the original comics but I am so sad to see the daily or even just the Sunday strips go away. Last Sunday was the last current one.
I think today would be a good day for those of us who enjoy A & J to hit the “like” button for today’s strip. This would let JJ know how much we like the strip. Wonder how high we can make it go.
Arlo and Janis are a part of my daily comic reading. thanks for all the laughs. looking forward to when they visit the kids again and to see how there business is doing.

Shouldn’t this cartoon be 35 months from now?

Jimmy denied that he is retiring. See yesterday’s comments about 2/3rds of the way down.

Jimmy made it perfectly clear yesterday, as Jesy Bertz says a few comments up, that he is NOT retiring.
Normally I don’t post something somebody already said… sorry, Jesy…
I’m just trying to give the news an extra chance to be seen and sink in.
So many people seem to comment without READING the previous posts!
He said it in at least half a dozen comments… some were replies to people mourning the departure. of Arlo and Janis,
Several times, he flat-out said “I’m not going anywhere!”
I never saw him clarify Arlo’s “35 months” remark, or respond to the speculation surrounding it….
But I bet it was just a joke… one that we didn’t get, and he probably wishes now that he’d never made.

Also… Arlo said on Monday that this would be a week of reminiscence for their anniversary…
This is probably day 6 of that week… who knows; it could even run into next week, with the famed elasticity of cartoon time.
It doesn’t mean this is the beginning of re-runs forever for A&J.
OK… now that I’ve at least tried to explain all that….
Could somebody pretty please explain Panel Three to ME?
I know my eyes are old, but I just can’t figure out what Gene is doing, and why logs are flying, and Arlo is startled.
Thanks!

JJ, please stop jerking us around. Don’t you care how much you are upsetting us?

Four panels of fun reminiscence—and, Mr. J. Johnson, you’re welcome for the reading! There’re pa-lenty of reasons why we do . .

It sometimes seems like you can see inside the relationship between my wife and me. Then you put it onto your strip. What a trip!

In the few years I’ve been reading the strip, I’ve never seen that kid. Who is he?

Panel 4 is either a) a football game, b)Adult hide and seek or c) CENSORED!
Tyge over 4 years ago
Glad Jimmy included panel 4. Backyard football had been a staple for years in the strip. Some flashbacks are:

Panel 3 original, Nov. 16, 1989 (before the GoComics archives):

Arlo is carrying firewood when Gene points and asks “What is that thing?!!”
