    Some came running

    Into danger

    Risk their lives

    Helping strangers.

    Mighty towers

    Tumbled down

    Many helpers

    Never found.

Save us from the true believers

    Hateful violence, vile deceivers.

    Today ‘tis fitting to recall

    Some came running, sacrificing all.

    Good morning™, re-people!

Day 5: still no talking heads, and again no dialogue, but there is a bit of narration today as we pause to recall the events of 9/11. Great art once again reminding us of that terrible day that we will never forget.

I still find it amazing how Team Tracy chooses which holidays and/or “days of remembrance” they decide to honor in the strip…theres been times they’ve completely ignored veteran’s day, memorial day, and if I remember correctly even Christmas once..and even pearl harbor day too

For every American who died on 9/11 two have since died in Iraq and Afghanistan…

As one LEO who lost 37 brothers in blue {PAPD] that day, I appreciate the DT team remembering the date with an annual tribute.

These in the days when heaven was falling

the hour when earths foundation fled

    followed their mercenary calling

took their pay and are dead.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended

They stood, and earth’s foundation stayed.

    What god abandoned, these defended

and saved the sum of things for pay. – A.E. Housman.

    Never Forget!

I first heard (some) of it on the radio as I was getting ready to head to work. Then I switched on my TV….

“I don’t really understand why this strip feels that they have to mark the 4th of July lately. There’s nothing wrong with it, but the less interruptions to the flow of the story, the better. I’m not in favour of marking all those other very important annual commemorations with an interruption to the story. Those are only my opinons”

Your “opinions” sound rather “dismissive” to me Neil…as if paying tribute to OUR NATIONAL HOLIDAYS (and legal holidays) is nothing more than an unwelcome interruption to the strip

And as for your comment Durak, my blood pressure is fine, no issues with it EVER… and if there WAS…it would take a HELLUVA LOT MORE than this to do it
