It’s Denver, and smoke is now a major part of our weather forecast.

I think RJ meant to say “Western half of the country”.

It’s bad enough that it’s giving London great sunsets.

The other day I was doing yard work and I could smell California.

@cheapskate0 The moon was an eerie red last night because of the Cameron Peak fire. Smoke and ash all summer.

That’s just the medical marijuana fog coming from Berkeley.

The smoke from the fires in the Western US hase reached all the way to Iceland.

So sad and terrible for the people and so heartbreaking for the helpless animals in the forests.

Western Oregon had some heavy rain last week, so our fires are getting under control; California’s nope.

It was very considerate of California, during this period of travel restriction and social distancing, to provide all of America a chance to see their beautiful sunsets and forests. Maybe next time send a postcard.

In Seattle we don’t have much in the way of nearby fires. But we do, from time to time, get to enjoy others’ smoke.

So from the second panel, we can deduce that the comic takes place on the east coast.

We had days of clear blue skies, but now the smoke is going to blow in again for at least a couple of days.

Have a fire been burning for over a month in the mountains nearby, and now when the wind shifts we get the smoke from a Wyoming fire

I may never move over there.

Lived in SoCal back in the early ’70’s south of LA, in the foothills on the western side of the valley. I recall walking out the backdoor of the house to see the eastern hillsides “gloriously aflame”, turned around and walked out the front door to see the western foothills also “gloriously aflame”. Lived there three years, and it was always the same.

It’s fair to partly smokey.

California needs to practice modern forest management, which includes clearing out deadwood, cutting firebreaks, and allowing the power companies to clearcut under their transmission lines.
