One way I’ve seen it expressed: “Kick up; kiss down.” In other words, if your humor is going to be mean-spirited, let the target be someone who’s not already downtrodden.

I once saw a comedian talking about Schadenfreude – and that fundamentally it was incredibly difficult to come up with jokes that didn’t involve laughing at harm that came to SOMEONE. Because, “if no one got hurt – it just ain’t funny.”

Are we ignoring that even Verne thinks it’s funny if the hurt is to someone rich and snooty?

Verne… Hop in your 4WD and turn RJ and Hammy into the roadkill they deserve to be.
