Dick Tracy did appear in Dethany’s strip today. But it looks like their daily colorist messed it up – wrong color trench coat.

Same problem we’ve had over here in at least Dick Tracy and Luann.

Looks like a Sweatbox-style doom for the murderous Prof. Stokes…..in this case an 18-wheeler rather than a train.

It does look to be a long way down. Tracy appears to be warning him about what’s on the other side. There are two lanes there. I don’t think that’s the ramp they were talking about. It’s probably the expressway.

Professor Stokes becomes “windshield bug splatter” or better yet, road kill…

Have a feeling Professor Stokes is not destined to be a recurring character, lol

And looks like this will set Abner up to make another Halloween appearance…….

Hmmm…let’s see….a random lightpost with a jazz festival banner located on what looks to be some type of on/off ramp from a highway situated beneath a wooden fence behind a dumpster down an alley between two buildings rather nearby what, the other day, a bustling “town center” type location that apparently lizz can circumvent quite quickly and “cut him off”……

Oh YAH this is TOTALLY FEASIBLE

The distance between panels 1 and 3 appear to be different but in either case there’s no way he’d be able to emerge from a fall that high without major injuries, if not fatal ones.

Really good art. Almost no words, just cinematographic action. I had to look at it slowly to work out exactly what was happening. Nice.

Maybe he’ll get his toy teeth stuck in his own throat, and drain his own blood. Sure, it’s stupid, but we’ve seen worse.

I am moved to say that today’s artwork is strong, except that, to me, the Spatial Relations in panel 3 are really unclear.

It does seem to me that Stokes has escaped from that alley where Tracy is in pursuit by 1) climbing onto a big dumpster, 2) jumping up to catch the Jazz Fest banner, and 3) swinging over the fence to the Other Side—pretty agile for a middle-aged (40s?) college professor.

But this is where it gets a bit confusing. Down below is the two-lane expressway on-ramp. Yet it appears to me to be significantly lower down than the alley from which Stokes is fleeing. Adding to my puzzlement is the upper right corner, which seems to be a high-rise tower rising from a yet lower level than the on-ramp.

It’s as though Stokes is at the edge of a Flat-Earther Tracyville!

Who knew Stokes was also an acroBAT.?

That fence can’t be more than 8 feet. Why does it look like a 20 foot drop to the highway?

So Stokes is the only one among us who doesn’t see the car coming?

He’s quite athletic… too bad he couldn’t make a legitimate living performing stunts.
