Yeah. It’s going to be a long task. Harder than doing the right thing is UNdoing the wrong thing. I’ll support him (them) in this, but I have little hope that the US will be back to where we were in 2018 by the time I shuffle off this mortal coil. It would be nice though!

I fear we will continue to have a struggle just getting to January 20. I have zero trust in the Republicans to do the right thing. They will — and are — challenge the presidential results but not their gains in the House which were on the same ballots. They will try a lot of tricks to overturn this clear result. And if they succeed, the the Republic truly will have fallen.

Ya know… what with fatso having soiled the American Flag and the Constitution for the last 4 years, I’m not even SURE that I want to know what those stains REALLY are…

The election results are a defeat for Vladimir Putin as well as for Trump and Trumpism. The results are a defeat for Erdogan of Turkey, Duterte of the Philippines, Kim Jong-un, and others.

Celebrate that Biden won, but roll up your sleeves and work, people! Tell your Congressional representatives what you expect from them, and keep telling them. Americans want affordable health care, marriage equality, protection for women’s reproductive rights, and more. It is all achievable, if we are prepared to organize, donate, speak out, and give a little of our time.

Good faith efforts by politicians to give the citizens what they want will result in Democratic victories in 2022 and 2024. We must help.

Republican obstructionism should be pointed out over and over again, and will show that they side with the plutocrats and kleptocrats. Those who voted for Trump in 2020 can and must be shown that Trump used them, that he was not helping them.

I notice Montanabill is once again falsely claiming the US left is communist. Funny thing is, it’s Trump who’s giving the store away to Putin.

We are all partly responsible for that stain. But we can all take part in washing it away. While we look to our officials for leadership, the real work is done by us: in our homes, our neighborhoods, at our jobs, and with each other – even with those we disagree with. It’s fine, even healthy, to disagree. But let us stop turning disagreement into enmity and demonizing differences.

Historians will say that America’s fall to being a 2nd rate power began with the Trump presidency, when 200 years of reputation was shredded, and foreign nations realized that whether the U.S. could be trusted was dependent on the person in the office in any given term.

Why not pull that one down and run up a fresh new one? We have plenty of flag manufacturers in our country! They could all use the boost in business. :-D

Another example of the GOP not paying attention to history! The last time there was a gap in the handover of power was 2000-2001, and during that lag in time, the intelligence community failed to see what was happening with a certain leader they had been following, i.e. they lost track of him. The result was 911. The fact of this cause and effect was made clear during the postmortem of the September 11, 2001 attacks. So what are the Republicans doing now to appease their Dear Leader’s MAGA tantrum? They refuse to open the purse strings and allow access to the intelligence and other government offices so the 46th president can prepare to do his job!
