Happy New Year, everybody!

So Luann and Bernice limp into 2021. Woohoo… and take us with them.

Is it my imagination or is Luann pushing her chest forward in preparation for her picture in the final panel?

I think they have been sniffing too much glue.

Is this simply a running commentary this week for the new year? Yawn. I trust everyone wants a better year than 2020 which is the worst since WW2. Of which GnK did not even address in his strips at all, so according to them, there is no pandemic in Luanniverse so what are the girls looking forward to? Just another year – while the rest of us are hoping for the end of the pandemic. Will they return tomorrow for another commentary strip or will we see the crew with noisemakers waiting for the New York Times Square ball to drop?

So I think this is the end of the current arc. Tomorrow night likely a single frame celebration for New Year. After the usual Sunday toon – I think it’s time to see what’s going on with Tiffany.

Finally, someone who isn’t complaining about 2020.

I took a break during the holidays from reading the strip because I wasn’t into the Bernice arc. I come back and we are still in the Bernice arc. Its like they are trying to end 2020 on an annoying and pretentious note. Happy New Year, hopefully we start 2021 on something more interesting where hilarity will truly ensue.

It’s nice they are thanking folks who helped during pandemic. Bernice did have an empty corner on her collage. Wonder what she wants to add. Seems Luann may be taking a page from Bet’s book either taking her own photo or recording the collage? Getting ready for a Happy New Year greeting? Have a good and safe 2021 everyone!

Well, at least the money was not wasted on her “collage education”.

Most of those “amazing people” didn’t (& still don’t) have a economic choice in the matter. Bernice’s statement is akin to saying we should be happy and grateful for slavery, and the poor leadership (both local and national) that allowed for it. Just pay hazard pay (reparations?) and provide health insurance so we all can get the same treatment as our congress people. But that would require actual leadership. Bernice needs put that psych degree to work and to go into the lucrative carrier of self help publishing.

Overall, I have really enjoyed this interplay between Bernice and Luann. Luann’s hoped for “selfie” inclusion in Bernice’s “Happy Collage” may ultimately result in Luann becoming UNhappy…. unless Bernice perceives Luann’s need for inclusion. :) Bernice “could” use a very light coating of rubber cement on Luann’s photo, so she can peel it off after a few days to let whatever she had in mind be revealed. :)

I always check at the end of the year not the beginning. Compared to 2021 I see 2020 as not so bad. I’ll be sure at the end of 2021.

Luann the ham…oK and i ‘m sure Bern won’t be critical (she’s learning to chill out). Lot of folk here thought this friendship would end after Bern moved in and there was a lot of chafing between these two. But not now.
