I have enough trouble remembering where I put them. Over the decades I’ve accumulated over a half dozen Weblo tool boxes, another two professional ones I inherited from my father and one or two I picked up on my own, a few tool kit Christmas presents, two for the car alone, a tool caddy, a tool bucket, a tool drawer in the kitchen, and then there’s the garage.

Egad! Alarm! Alarm! Dive! Take her deep, Mr. Jones!

My wife doesn’t dare to put my tools away. She knows that I am perfectly capable of losing my tools on my own.

If you want your tools lost right, do it yourself!

We finished our move months ago and I’m still looking for tool boxes, much less tools.

My wife constantly likes to rearrange (hide) kitchen stuff and even some of my toiletries for reasons unknown to me. At least she stays out of my shop.

All my tools have a place they are “suppose” to be. Problem is, when I’m working on things I don’t put them back at the time. I’ll set a tool down on any clear space with the idea I will easily be able to find it when I need it again. (A friend of mine calls it “Flat Space Syndrome”.) At least once a month I try to go through my shop and pick up the tools and put them where they belong…..until then it is mostly a “seek and you shall find” kind of operation.

Has Jimmy Johnson been talking to my parents? This is exactly what they do on a regular basis.

When I needed to work on one of my cars outside of the garage, I would gather every tool that I would possibly need! However, after I climbed under the car and started to work, I ,invariably, found that I had missed the most important tool of all! So it was crawl out and get up (which became more difficult every year) and make the first of several trips back to the garage! ;o[

That is his trade Mark!

Nobody puts the tools away the way you want them, best to leave it for the owner of the tools.

when you’re retired you do the job take a break then put the tools away then take a break

My wife is very kind to take any tools downstairs to the work shop then dutifully puts them on one specific corner of the bench so I can put them away. the best of both worlds.

He’s afraid that she might put them in some kind of logical order.

Anything my wife puts away for me is lost forever.

When my wife puts tools away, I know for certain they are in the house…somewhere.

I might have a secret stash of absolutely necessary tools I hide so I always know where they’re at….

I recently spent 45 days in the hospital – during which time not only did She have free reign, but our youngest (a carpenter) came down from AK for a week to ADA my shower and such; I currently have absolutely 0 idea where anything – tools, pots & pans, anything – is.

The youngster did find my ax, which had been lost in the garage for several years; I went to sharpen it & couldn’t, as there is crap piled up 6"-10" the width & depth of my workbench.

I never, ever borrow my husband’s tools. He, however, has no qualms about borrowing mine. He does put them back, but I always have to clean them before I can use them again.

My father-in-law used to rearrange our house whenever he visited. He insisted we were “doing it all wrong.” It would then take weeks to find stuff.

He lives there too. Why do they act like he is doing her a favor for fixing the house? I don’t think my husband ever thanks me for vacuuming or doing laundry.

Somewhere, in my small condo, there are two folding wood saws for tree branches. Bought the second because I could not find the first. Tried to used the second and found the first.

I love my wife but I put my tools away.

My wife never uses my hardware tools, thankfully. She has a tendency to lose or accidentally throw away her gardening tools, though, and she has borrowed my lawn tools with the same result.

I now keep my lawn tools hidden. She doesn’t like it, but they no longer disappear.

HA! Many days I have trouble understanding the “Punchline” of this strip – but I certainly understand this one. As any man/father does.
