I’m sure we’ve all done the parking lot two-step, even JJ, but I found a work-around. Bought a Gaiter Tube flag mask over two years ago just because it was 90% off. Then the Dread Virus Roberts hit, as one of our regulars put it, and now I find myself using it on almost every excursion. I do pull it down when driving, but it is much more comfortable than a mask.

On occasion I have forgotten my mask. But it doesn’t dawn on me until I’m already in the store and I notice that my reading glasses aren’t fogging up.

He shouldn’t feel bad. I forget almost every time until I’m out of the car, and I see other people doing the same thing. Even after all this time.

The highlight is going back after forgetting to bring a clean mask and looking for the least dirty used mask.

And this is why I keep a box of masks in my car. It took me about 2 weeks into this for me to realize that I’ll never get used to remembering to bring one with.

The new feature on cars and trucks for 2021 is a little voice that says “Did you remember your mask” when you turn off the engine.

The more that I read most other comics, the less that I want to read them, and the more that I like Arlo & Janis.

I’m hoping in a about a year we’ll be going through a drawer and say “Hey look it’s one of those old Covid masks we used to wear.”

I’ve always thought the most important function of a face covering is that it is a visual reminder to social distance.

A few times I’ve gotten all the way in the store and realized I didn’t have my mask. I now put my mask by the gear shift to help me remember it.

I have a packet of disposable ones in the glove compartment, so at least I don’t need to traipse all the way home to get one.

If you really have a bad memory you don’t know it. Because you have forgotten all the things you forgot.

I keep a spare in my purse. I keep extras in the car, as a wet mask is pretty useless. When I was vaccinated and in the presence of so many medical and other people, I wore a N95 and a surgical mask, N95 on the bottom. Really looking forward to the second vaccination and am grateful I was able to get mine on the early side.

I have had trouble remembering names in the last year. I’ve heard as you get older memory fades. That’s why I try to keep an active mind by actively writing novels. When I can’t think of a word, I google it or check synonyms with a similar word. Shit!

We go out VERY rarely this past year. We have 2 masks each which I made (and mine has elastics cut from some of accounting supplies as I did not have thin enough elastic for them to stay behind my ears) and one mask I received from my Part D company. (We were supposed to get 10 masks from the company per a postcard they mailed, but I received only 1 and his address had not been changed from our PO box and the forwarding has been terrible from same, so he did not get any. How terrible? This week we received a number of items of forwarded mail with postmarks varying from August 31 to December 20, 2020.)

We have a small shopping bag which is from a different store than other bags. It has plastic gloves, small spray bottle of alcohol, the insurance mask, and some sandwich plastic bags (fit me better than gloves, cheaper and continually easier to buy). It hangs in our kitchen on the door to the basement. On a clothes pin which it is pinned to a small basket on our fridge are the masks I made. When we go out we take one of each of our masks from the clothes pin and one of the two plastic zip bags (marked “mask bag”) in the basket they are hanging from and add them to the bag on the basement door and take them with us. Everything we need is in the bag when we walk out and the bag sits between the front of the car (van, RV – it needs to go out for a drive once in awhile) and when/if we need a mask, etc it is there to take. The bag comes back into the house with us. If mask(s) were used they are in the mask bag which is thrown down the stairs to the basement for them to be washed. Once at least 2 masks have been used they are washed and dried and returned to the clothes pin.
