Every tub I have ever been in has a 1,5" overflow hole directly feeding the drain.

OPA! (Old Person Alert)

Here in Japan, overflow in the bath is normal as we have drains in the floor. Also, the toilet and the bath are in separate rooms. But why is Janis holding up a towel in the first panel when she is alone (except for several thousand of us readers of course)?

I think she over-enjoyed it, a little.

I guess she’s gained some weight….

There’s no way Janis would make this mistake given all the baths she takes.

It could be as simple as the overflow drain is clogged.

Unless I’m mistaken, this strip has the highest percentage of ‘naked woman in a bath tub’ gags.

That’s why there is an overflow drain at the top of tubs!

The overflow drain wasn’t working?

I kinda noticed my wife is not using as much water in the whirlpool bath, she used to empty the entire 50gal water heater.

Forgot about displacement.

Where do they use bath tubs without a built-in overflow level drain?

Well, my viewpoint on this is she got lost in the tunes in her head and wasn’t paying attention to how much water she put in the tub. But I’m more of a KISS (Keep IT Simple Stupid) guy that a physics displacement guy.
