Riding on the populism of credulous deplorables that Trump has slithered his way into as part of a life built on distraction from disasters in countless reflexive media feeding frenzies was the first mistake of the final act for the Republicans.
The Republicans problems run much deeper than Trump though.. Now they have managed to release the demons of a thousand uneducated rural hells who as they burn down the party may well consume our entire country in their brimstone furyâŠ
Like Iâve said, the Republican Party is dead, replaced by the trump cult. Any of the former Republicans who want to band together are going to have to form a new party and divorce themselves completely from the lunatics before theyâll ever be taken seriously again.
There is no longer a Republican party. It has become the Party Of Trump â POT.
And the former Republican party has shown NO loyalty since Moscow Mitch and the Kochs and other billionaires decided to dedicate themselves to making Obama a one term president AND to obstruct everything he tried to do including their own proposals when Obama supported them.
The Party Of Trump is now dedicated to the principles of continuous LYING, racism, and increasing wealth inequality using tax law manipulation and other means. And their current turmoil is over what to do about members of their party who acknowledged that Their Messiah is guilty of what he was impeached for.
The trouble with the âloyal oppositionâ is that itâs too loyal to the Democrats and too little in opposition. Thatâs why Trump was and still is so popular with non-Establishment Republicans.
Really surprised the reds down here havenât blamed Antifa for their failure to plan for inevitable grid failure. Betoâs too generous saying weâre near a failed state.
No snark â Bad news about a Republican I still admireâŠ.
~
Former Republican senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole announced Thursday that he has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
The 97-year-old Kansan said in a statement he was diagnosed ârecentlyâ and will start treatment on Monday.
âWhile I certainly have some hurdles ahead, I also know that I join millions of Americans who face significant health challenges of their own,â he said in a statement.
The Republican Party of the 20th century is gone, and it doesnât look like it is ever coming back. The people I know as conservative moderates are falling in line behind the far right demagogues now because beating democrats in the future is more important than whatever ideals and belief they used it have. They are damned by their own choice. The responsibility of Americans who havenât sold their souls is to prevent them taking the country down to Hades with them.
Then there is the Republican leader wanna be Ted Cruz of Texas, who solved his problems by flying to Cancun Wednesday. He says he is flying back to Texas on Thursday. I view that as a public service, being burned at the stake will warm up a bunch of people.

Well you blame me and I blame the Viking
And Iâm pretty sure that answer
Must not be to your liking
But itâs not a game, Iâm not avoiding blame
The Viking said he did it, that heâs sorry
That heâs ashamed

While the dreaded two week delay rears its ugly head once again,
Scott missed the chance to note that Republicans missed the chance to divorce themselves from Trump
Again.

Maybe we need to bring back the Whig and Federalist Parties.
(_CAUTION: Bad joke ahead!_)
Trump may go for a revived Whig Party. After all, doesnât he wear one?

Seems to be serious talk of abandoning the wreckage and starting a new party.
