There’s a whole new category of verb forms emerging that look like active voice but are really passive voice in disguise — as in “the product shipped” or “the film released” — apparently on the theory that it’s just too, too much effort to stick that “has been” or “was” in there. Since they’re halfway between passive and active, I’ve taken to calling them pissive.
