    On an individual basis, I like cats, we’ve even had a few through the years. I prefer dogs, however. As a group, especially feral cats, I do not like them at all. One of the mallard couples on our pond just hatched 8 little ones. Within a week, feral cats had killed them all.

    I’ve read that cats seem to know and pester people who dislike them because avoiding a cat’s gaze and not immediately smothering them is considered good cat manners, so they warm up to those who ignore them and hide from those that don’t.
