Reminds me of what John Glenn reportedly said just before the very first American human space flight, “And to think, everything was built by the lowest bidder.”
Really…. A fine example of the US Gummint way of getting things built/done/erected by the ‘lowest bidder’ method. Case in point; I’d been assigned to a new ‘place’ where a Lawn and Garden Co. from Michigan had been given the contract to put up our 80-foot tall radar and dome. They knew about as much about doing that than I know about brain micro-surgery.. They skipped town, job undone and left behind a LOAD of IOU’s at local rural vendors, motels, restaurants, tractor dealers, hardware stores and road-builders that almost devastated the local economy… I prefer the French way of doing it, ie; between the highest and lowest, the middle guy gets the deal. (It took 7+ years to unscramble all those eggs..)
This is so inconvenient! I hate having to rearrange my desk to be able to lay down to read a cartoon. Then everything has to be put back to sit up and read the comments.

There was a crooked man,And he walked a crooked mile,
He found crooked sixpence,
And a crooked stile,
He bought a crooked cat,
Which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together,
In a crooked little house……

They must have really steamed the builder. His work seems a little wilted.

Funny. I was thinking of either Halloween or Valentines day. Maybe both at the same time.
