Looks like ID has a New York City building contractor.

Reminds me of what John Glenn reportedly said just before the very first American human space flight, “And to think, everything was built by the lowest bidder.”

For a moment I thought I was reading Funky Winkerbean.

Really…. A fine example of the US Gummint way of getting things built/done/erected by the ‘lowest bidder’ method. Case in point; I’d been assigned to a new ‘place’ where a Lawn and Garden Co. from Michigan had been given the contract to put up our 80-foot tall radar and dome. They knew about as much about doing that than I know about brain micro-surgery.. They skipped town, job undone and left behind a LOAD of IOU’s at local rural vendors, motels, restaurants, tractor dealers, hardware stores and road-builders that almost devastated the local economy… I prefer the French way of doing it, ie; between the highest and lowest, the middle guy gets the deal. (It took 7+ years to unscramble all those eggs..)

This is so inconvenient! I hate having to rearrange my desk to be able to lay down to read a cartoon. Then everything has to be put back to sit up and read the comments.
