Aw, and April 1st fell on a Thursday this year. It would have made a great update, and a prank on the newly popped Topper. I hope the move goes well! And affordably.
(Aaron is friends with Shaenon Garrity. Maybe he’s showing solidarity with her choice to not bring Skin-Horse back until May 3rd. Kind of like Wallace and Spud today.)
Well, if he is moving to Amarillo, I hope he finds a better place than the one we lived in for the two months we were there in the summer of 1957. Rodent infested house, next to a refinery. I slept on the couch. The only good part was that my older brother and I watched old movies until late.
Thank you Aaron for keeping us in the loop, and happy trails! Some other artists on GoComics just stop posting new material for sometimes months at a time leaving us all guessing.
At least hurricanes don’t reach up there. However it is prone to blizzards and below zero. Oh and mind the tornadoes and dust storms……but you can see them coming for miles. But Aaron is a Texan….he knows.
Ha ha! What am I gonna do with my life until then? I finished shlock mercenary twice and starslip. Maybe a trip to the library but do you fellow readers have ideas for good science-fiction? Last one I read was “Apex” “Crux” and “Nexus” by Ramez Naam.
Coincidentally – to those who are going to miss the strip during its absence – I started (and finished) reading Book II of Endtown the other day. Hadn’t revisited this since originally reading it here, and it’s a very different experience to have the story unfold all at once instead of every-other day. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the characters and story. Especially Flask. Broken up by semi-daily installments breaks up an amazing rhythm that Aaron creates. I strongly recommend everyone who hasn’t reread the earlier strips to do so; preferably in book-form to help support Aaron. I have all the books, and will continue to purchase them as they come out. Well worth a second read!
I looked up the Panhandle on Google maps and was curious about the shape of the state. Just to the north of the Panhandle there is a narrow strip of Oklahoma. Seems odd, as though it should belong to Texas, or the Panhandle should belong to Oklahoma. Is there a story here? Or just surveyors gone mad?
Anthro speculation… if Aaron is leaning towards avian this time, which form will it be? An owl? Another stork a la Ravenscroft? A turkey would be amusing…
The move is not starting well. One of their cats has gotten very sick. I usually do single donations through the yellow “donate” button on the endtown auction block page. This link should work for anyone interested. https://endtownauctionblock.wordpress.com/
Just a little known fact. When the Republic of Texas accepted annexation into the U.S. of A., one condition was that it could choose to separate into 5 separate states. That condition still exists. Maybe, someday Aaron will be in the state of North Texas.
Marx: Here, Holly, have some of this Lucranian cheese I just bought. Holly: (takes bite out of cheese wedge) AAAARGG!! (runs to kitchen sink and starts drinking out of faucet at full blast). Marx: (tries cheese) Hmmm…only 250,00 Scoville Heat Units…I’ll have to complain to the store!
Another furry grimdark strip you might read during the hiatus is Jack http://jackrabbit.thecomicseries.com/Currently on hiatus as well but has twice as many strips as Endtown and is conveniently broken up into 49 arcs.
You obviously don’t know Texas. Not only does that state have some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet You’ll find a mind-boggling range of climates and environments from busy big cities to pastoral and beautiful open country spaces.
Ha, Texas, I just got my live slime mold or “Blob” from the university of Toulouse. And on Youtube there’s this story about a Lady from Texas and a blob in her garden. They tried to kill it with a shovel, police tried to shoot it but it just kept doubling the size every 24 hours. Then, it just disappeared overnight. Story run that it was an alien. Maybe there are still blobs running around in Texas

Well, we had fair warning but a small part of me kept hoping the day would never come. Best of luck to Mr. Neathery in his new home. BTW, who is FERD?

Safe travels, Aaron, and best wishes for a smooth move and settling into your new home.
In the meantime we can all spend the next month speculating on which anthro form the Topsider will take, and what will transpire after that.

If it’s close to the border, it may be on an interstate power grid and better than the rest of the State.
